Well it didn't deserve it, in my opinion. And it won in a category where The Departed was also nominated. Disgraceful... Departed was miles better than it.

Well, the Simpsons have more than once taught us that (maybe not all, but some) awards aren't worth shit.

"Oh, an award! ...Ah no, it's just a Grammy."

I've mainly heard good things about Babel and I liked 21 Grams, which was also directed by Alejandro González Inárritu (man, typing that name is a pain in my butt), so sooner or later I wanna watch Babel as well.

I saw the classic 1984 the other day, somehow I've managed to miss it for all these years. Not quite what I had imagined (a lot more poetic, and depressing) but good none the less.

I quote the Simpsons in order to pretend that I'm on a good way.

Was it to do with the editing of the film? Or is the narrative itself quite lackluster?

I just didn't like the structure of it. I didn't know what it was going in, it was just on at a convenient time so we went. Films that jump around to all different scenes/places/people where the start of the film in one scene is the end of the film in another scene bug me. Was a right waste of 5 quid, in my opinion, but that's just me. Also I didn't get what relevance the Japanese girl had to the bigger picture of the film. All right, her father was involved but tracking her day just seemed pointless to me.

Does that have something to do with the scene where Dae-su Oh pulls someone's teeth? Or where he eats the living calamari? Or... Ok, I guess I see your point

I'm certainly not one of the guys who like movies just because of their violence, but in this case I have to say that all those moments were presented in impressive pictures and scenes and that it - not only in terms of violence, I'm speaking of the film as a whole - reached a level of intensity I've rarely rexperienced in movies so far. Incredible indeed.

Miss Potter.

Very likeable, well acted and the animations that intersperse the story are well done.
Take your girlfriend to see it.
