It can be done, but an admin who knows what they're doing would have to configure it. Like, ideally it'd be a good idea to replace the googlevideo tab with Vimeo; but there's a big list of stuff this forum is in need of before Vimeo tabs D:

Today is ANZAC day! Day off work, woo! Kinda feel like a douchebag for spending a day to remember our fallen soldiers, playing videogames...but that's what they were fighting for, right?!

...RIGHT?!?

Lots of hugs and software updating. No amount of hugs will track down the webmaster though ;-;

Our webmaster is a mythical beast heard of only in legend. One day he will ride on a Unicorn and carry us all the way to the magic tunnels underneath the Denver airport, and then across the Bifrost Bridge into Asgard

Next week is our remembrance day, and me and some friends will be out in a pub somewhere. We'll shut up for the 2 minutes of national silence, of course, but it'll be a day like any other otherwise. Also we don't get that day off work or anything. I like to think that's what they fought for, for us future generations to have the normal lives we've come to take for granted. A moment to reflect on this is good, but not something to dedicate an entire day to since -indeed- we'd squander it anyway. ;)

ANZAC Day is a pretty big deal here - We try to go to the dawn service at the Australian War Memorial when we can.

Very much recommend a visit to the war memorial to visitors - it's a beautiful museum. Peter Jackson created a pretty amazing light and sound show for them with a fantastic CG biplane dogfight.

And then we head home to watch Collingwood beat Essendon at the MCG (I hope). A lot of people go to the pub and get shitfaced also, so it's good to see some traditionals are universal.

It's also the day most Canberrans turn their heaters on!

It's a big deal to quite a few New Zealanders I'm sure - we have our dawn services and bloody John Campbell interviewing veterans with a shit eating grin on his face, but I've never been to one. I had a neighbour who fought in the war - he didn't like to talk about it, I remember him crying when I asked about a photo on his wall of him and others in uniform...I was too young to understand why.

Yeah, I'm working today. Otherwise I'd be at home pretending to be Batman. There's always tonight.

I've never heard of this Campbell guy, but to be fair almost nothing comes back across the Tasman in terms of TV. Highway Patrol is all I can think of! Weird when you think about it, you'd think there'd be more. I'm curious though... what's his story?

Living where I do has helped with the whole ANZAC thing - getting to drive for just 10 to 15 minutes to be at the national war memorial makes it easy to get into the whole thing. My grandfather fought in Northern Africa and PNG in WW2 and as the eldest I'm sadly the only grandchild to have known him much at all before he passed away so it's a nice way to remember him too. He went through some atrocious stuff and very rarely spoke of it.

It will be interesting as the WW2 diggers are getting few and far between these days and the Aus and NZ WW1 diggers are gone. Once that human connection is gone, will the day lose some meaning to kids whose only connection is a great grandfather they never met?

Both awesome and unawesome, I can't decide...But tomorrow is the dental apocalypse. Gran's seen me in constant agony for the past 2 months and is lending me the money to get my stupid face treated, bless her soul.

4 impacted wisdom teeth out, a new splint to be fitted, a crown and two fillings...Then when it's healed I have the option of having my jaw reset after six months to take the pressure off the joints. I haven't told work I'll need Friday off yet but that'll be sorted this afternoon and they can deal with it. I'll probably be in worse pain/asleep anyway but eventually it'll be awesome to not be in so much pain every day. Huzzah.

Terrified isn't the word though. :?
