Hope they're keeping the good quality now, because artist roster and look of their guitars are great.
So you replaced the really great cheaper one with another more expensive Mayones, yes? What was wrong with the super-strat?
It's funny how stuff works out that way. In a slightly different situation -my fretless bass is a Fender made in Mexico, and it's fantastic, as good as the American-made ones; and a lot of off-shore instruments are sometimes not as reliable. Go figure.
Did you ever get a decent guitar?![]()
Devy, spelled Devy! wrote:I have a question for you - it seems as though it would be easy enough to get an answer, but I'm having a hard time so farhow much do Mayones basses -or your guitars- cost, a rough guess? I could send a query, but I'd rather just ask around since I don't have the money for one at all right now. I can convert the price on an internets-converter to USD. Anyways, love the Slogan - what do you think of it?
I just hope the shipping price wouldn't push the cost up another $100-or-more which is a good possibility
BrunoN wrote:I guess it's easier to make a simple guitar. First superstrat of mine (ok, it actually is a RG copy, not sure if "superstrat" is the right term) had something weird with the neck (all buzzing and stuff) + funniest of that, pickup switch mounted in reverse, they've replaced it with another guitar, one with shoddily installed floyd rose AND again with funny neck with buzzing and that dud places all over it (don't know the exact English term for that, luthier said fretwork was all messed up). Finally got whole neck replaced with custom one, painted black, with sharkfin inlays, rosewood, binding and stuff + perfect setup, so finally I've got my nice guitar. I think the problems with neck could be their experimentation with weird wood for fretboards(they liked to use "black oak" back then - didn't look great and apparently was problematic in production). The rest of their problems was probably experimentation with other substances. Once again - it was years ago, hope they're ace now.
....
Can't find prices in English, here's the pricing in Polish - should be pretty self explanatory. Search for "basowe" for bass guitars. Counting with today's PLN to USD exchange rate: 4 string Slogan is about $2500, 5 stringer is ~$2700, 6 string version is mere $2960. Cheapest of their basses is Forum 4 at about $730, probably still available somewhere, even if it isn't on their site anymore
They had cheaper guitars, but abandoned that segment after the market was saturated with tons of ultracheap Chinese guitars - which is a shame since their cheapocasters probably created whole Polish metal scene.
Ebony fingerboard and Ebony Macassa top for splendid looks. The rest of the specification includes a profiled Ash body attached to 9ply Maple-Mahogany monolith neckthis sounds pretty win. Ebony *salivate* and the neck-thru body is a sign of quality

Daniel Gildenlow's guitar, 27", fretless with piezo and MIDI pickups. Wows, that's a flexible instrument for sure.
