hmm, since I last posted in this tread:

Thank you for the kind words, and as far as Dead Meadow goes, the best way I can describe their sound is as distant. Kind of soft, soothing vocals with a really fuzzy guitar sound, not extremely heavy sound though. Really kind of soothing to be honest. It all has this echo to it though, both this CD and their previous one that makes everything sound very distant. Lots of lower pitched guitar like I said before, but not super heavy, and they seem to like to use a lot of wah on their guitars too. Really a pretty unique band, and if you like stuff that's a little more out there, then I reccomend giving them a check.

Also, I'd like to say that the above wasn't my complete haul. There's more:

Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies
Earth - Lying in the Gleam of an Unsheathed Sword
Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley (finally)
Sunn 0))) - Flight of the Behemoth
Sunn 0))) - White 1
Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night

Have you been on a bit of a slow and low trip recently psychotic? Lotta southern lord and doom-y stuff in your hauls.

I've been listening to a lot of similar for the past 12 months. I finally got around to ordering some ridiculously expensive Boris cds. I think I have most of their discography on mp3... now there's a gig that would cost me hundreds to assemble for real!
