If any other band in the world hyped its music so much months before release, i'd get seriously annoyed. With dtb though, it's all good
Great couple of posts, especially Devin's. With all the dark forces pounding away at our heads these days, the best thing we can hope for is someone to come along and gently cuddle our brains for a while. Dev, you're exceptional at this sort of thing, and your post brightened up my evening.

Dev, Ryan, and the other guys - it's damn encouraging to see so much enthusiasm leaking out of a bunch of talented people over their own work. Can't wait to go on this new journey you guys put together for us. Yea =)

See what I mean? There's already three pages of people who can't wait to feel what this album is going to do to us. Bring on the euphoric serenity.

what hasn't been said?? Dev you are the best!! y
ou bring the music to our lives dude, so we all totally love you back man.
I cant wait...
Wow...as time passes by, my expectations about Synchestra are higher and higher!
I guess the album is going to be awesome because the band looks VERY CONFIDENT!!! In fact they all sound so confident that it starts to frighten me!! Is it going to be THAT good?
Of course Dev and his fellows have NEVER disappointed me in any way but still...
The effects of Synchestra are already touching me: I wait so much for this album that my interest in other musics has decreased alarmingly! I barely listen to any thing right now! I hope DTB will prove worthy of my case;)

Devin, your post has really shattered me to the marrow of my bones.
You are a unique muscial genius and thus I can't wait to hear Synchestra.
In my heart I just know that it is going to be as rewarding to listen to as all your albums. Listening to your music is like diving into a multiverse of sounds and emotions. I espcially appreciate the constant change you put us through. This immense diversity sends shivers down my spine and then it makes me smile again. Sometimes at the same time...
Thanks for being there, man

Haha, this will be an album that you will listen to and ever time something incredible happens (which in this case, the entire album), you're just gonna shake your head and say "GODD*MN! THERE'S NO SENSE IN THIS SHIT!"
BRING ON SYNCHESTRA!!! ALL MUST BOW TO THE DTB!!!

PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE SUBJUGATION!!!
The only thing to comment on is how the record might do in sales. It will be a bit of a downer if the album is kind of panned by critics or doesn't get the attention it deserves. Dev will probably have to do another SYL tour or produce another album.
"You make a few albums. You do a few more projects. You pay the rent."
Something like that.
He seems to enjoy most of it at least, even though his solo stuff kind of gets ignored. I believe Devin himself said that while he's been involved in music for 12 years he hasn't seen any real recognition for the first 10.
It's beautiful that despite having to deal with something like that Dev and the fellas from DTB can still move forward and create an album like Synchestra. An album about hope.

Haha, out of the two cuss words in this post, i'm not sure the correct one was censored.

Interesting view on this bro. I read it and had to comment.....
The thing about the DTB is that you've got 5 guy's who strongly believe in the music they play. Record sales and all that stuff is'nt what we soley focus on.... we obviously would like the sales and recognition but don't rely on it. If we did rely on it, this band would'nt be together
You're right we don't get a ton of recognition YET. That's what we're working towards and hopefully it will pay off bit by bit. The great thing about it, is that while we work on getting this band more recognized, we are truly enjoying what we do and love the music 150%. I think if you're that dedicated towards the music and truly believe in it, good things will happen. That's what we're doing in the DTB and we're having fun doing it and you, the fans, are rewarded with the music we come up with and we (the DTB) are rewarded with having such awesome fans who spread the word about us. The good news is that the word of Dev's solo stuff is getting around, thanks to you guy's.
I honestly think it's just a matter of time before things really start to open up even more for the DTB, who know's maybe even Synchestra can be the album that get's us closer to the recognition we're looking for, you never know. In the meantime, we're going to have the time of our lives, writing, rehearsing and touring the "Love Metal" for you all, whether we stay at the popularity we're at now or if we get bigger. We love what we do !
Thanks to all of you for the support, you all RULE !

I can't wait to hear this album. That said, it bums me out that more people don't "get" The Dev. I don't understand it. I wish people would like it more. My opinion is that the music is just too good. It's too complex, too dense and too intelligent. I mean, let's face it, they don't call them average for nothing. The average person is just not that smart. Go watch the People's Choice Awards. That's what people like. Kelly Clarkson, 50 Cent. That's what's popular. Why? It doesn't demand anything of you. (And, that's not to say I don't like that music, but it ain't the f*cking same as Dev's.)
Dev's music demands. It insists.
Look, the freaking album ain't even out yet and we've already been told to listen to it from beginning to end. Do you know how tough that is in our times? With all of the media demanding our attention, to give over to sound for 70 minutes is a luxury! It's a journey, a task. A welcome and rewarding task, but nonetheless, it's not easy. And, it shouldn't be, either.
We love The Dev because we are music lovers. We are afficionados. If Dev's music were a cigar it would be Cuban. If it were champagne it would be from the South of France. If Dev's music were an mp3 player it would be the iPod. If it were a receiver it would be a McIntosh. If it were food it would be served in only the most expensive restaurants.
Dev's music is not for every one. Because not everyone possesses the ability to appreciate it. There is a theory that everyone is intelligent in their own way, that there are multiple intelligences. One of the intelligences is music (appreciation and/or creation). I suspect that each of us is high in the musical intelligence area. (But, lots of us have a deficit some where else ie. math, language, mechanical, etc.)
For me, Dev's music is some of the best I've ever heard. In fact, I have found it hard to listen to other music sometimes. I often put my iPod on shuffle. I created a special metal smart playlist that picks randomly from my library. And, it often puts Dev's music next to Rush, Fates Warning, Judas Priest, Opeth, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Vai, Megadeth, etc. All of it music I dig. But, when Dev comes on, it's as if the other music was normal but Dev's music is in Technicolor.
Technicolor. For you non-film geeks, that's an outdated process that was once the ultimate in color saturation for making movies. You took three different film strips, each tilted toward either the red, green, or blue part of the color spectrum and projected them at the same time. It's what the Wizard of Oz was filmed in. You know how when Dorothy opens the door on Oz and the color suddenly fills the world? That's what it's like when Dev's music comes on next to some other song.
And, it's beautiful, even the screaming. Sometimes, especially the screaming.
I have, from time to time, had to stop listening to some music because it was too negative. There is a time for that. There is a time for aggression and hate. But there is a time for love, too. When I was younger I wanted a steady diet of hate. It was how I felt. And metal supplied it for me. But, as I get older I see how much pain there is in people, how f*cking bad the world can be sometimes. It makes me said and brings me down. I think only good things can come from trying to make the world a better place and to bring a little more love and positivity to the people.
(But, be careful. Love is powerful. It can change the world. Some people don't want the world changed. Ask Martin Luther King Jr. Ask Gandhi. Ask, on this day, John F. Kennedy.)
I can't wait for this album. Dev, I hope and pray that you are always able to make music for us. It is meaningful to us. I think all of us here would say that your music makes our lives better and richer. I hope that you always find it fulfilling and challenging and enriching, that it gives to you as much as it gives to us, that you always get what you need from it.
