I'd totally do that if it wasn't mainly online communication. :D

stopping in to say that the russian circles show was awesome. they're a little tame, ever so slightly boring on record, but i knew they were gonna deliver live.
the sound was pretty crappy though, which isn't uncommon for the venue... i was a little more than halfway back toward the side and sitting on the back of the booth seating so i could see. my friend went to the other side of the room for a little while and reported back that we could hardly hear the guitar at all on our side. i suppose it's not the end of the world because they're really all about the bass, but it's unfortunate that such a bourgeois, hip venue can't get a goddamn sound guy worth his salt. he's also exceptionally slow and frequently rude to performers.

but yeah, it was a good show. i didn't care for what i caught of deafheaven (most of the girls in the crowd loved them though... weird.) nor did i like helm's alee. they had some good ideas, but neither of the singers could... you know... sing.

When Russian Circles kicks into Death Rides a Horse or Station live... Man oh man. It's one of those live band moments that send shivers down your spine.

i mentioned a while ago that my MP3 player shat the bed. i put out a plea on my facebook for someone to give me an unwanted discman if they've got one lying around. 2 of my friends offered me their's and i'm gonna have tunes for my bike ride home tonight! kickin' it oldskool with my cd wallet, yo.

i remember hanging out with my friends and flipping through each other's cd wallets. and the resulting disgust i felt for the backstreet boys.... man, my friends sucked back then.

Sweetness! Think I'll wait for the actual release to listen, but can't wait to hear. Wasn't overly impressed with the single, hope the rest is a better bunch.

Renovating my spare room into a library/spin bike room.
Pulled up the old carpet square and old linoleum before getting the new carpet laid, and found these lining the floorboards:

Sweet find! I'd sit and read every word, Red Dead Redemption style.

it sort of follows Once and DPP in that it starts with an epic song, then two-three catchy easy-listening song, and then it epic tiemz again! : D

Such a shame you never hear of Jewel thefts anymore... Vintage criminal carry-on just sounds so much classier than the crap that goes on in these last few decades.
