I feel like bawling my eyes out. So I'm gonna get drunk instead. I'll wake up tomorrow and I will still be weeks just away from having a son, and my life generally is really fantastic.

But now is for misery.

Giants didn't make the playoffs this year, trust me, I know how you feel.

I do quite like the Giants, really wanted then to nab the wildcard this year. Went to a game two summers ago too and man, that stadium is freaking awesome. I was pretty freaking drunk though so don't think I watched much of the game...

But I digress, at least we can take comfort in the fact that the Diamondbacks (my team) made it and the Red Sox didn't, right?

Let us not mince words. Since you're a D Backs fan and literally not any other member of the division's fan, it's okay, we can be bros, but there's no fucking way in hell I'm going to take comfort in the Dbacks making the playoffs. Just wait for next year, Buster Posey will be back, and we will smell blood in the water.

There's no better modern ballpark than AT&T. That's not bias, it's just fact, since even Pittsburgh modeled theirs after ours.

And yes, that last day was the funniest day of baseball ever. Fuck the Braves and the Red Sox. Go Rays.

Haha yeah, I guess I should have worded that better, I can take comfort in knowing the Diamondbacks made the playoffs :D
At least we agree on the Red Sox. Detroit needs to at least make it to the next round do that the fuckin' Yankees won't make it. For me, it's either Dbacks or Detroit.

Rays and Brewers. Only acceptable answer.

My hangover is not awesome at all. Accompanied by painful hiccups.

But there is much to be happy about so it's all good!

Commiserations mate.
'Twas a very good game and the Pies have a lot to look forward to in the future.

Hope your day continues to improve, and take solace in the idea that you will very likely feel better than the guy who hired Meatloaf for the pre-match.
He'd be under a rock somewhere out in The Great Sandy right about now.

(hmm...speaking of which...see other thread)

Thanks mate! All better now. And partly because you're absolutely right... It was a great match between the two best teams in the comp and the best team won. Can't say fairer than that.

Considering the success we've already had, the age of our list is great. Tarrant aside, who is in great shape anyway, all of our prime movers are in their early to mid 20s. Only question mark is Jolly's fitness but we've got Jarrod Witts coming in via a NSW scholarship and he's a beast of a kid. Sandilands big. I've been looking forward to Bucks taking over for a while now, and it looks like we'll get Rocket Eade in to assist.

The Cats are a phenomenon and only age and injuries will stop them from challenging for a fourth flag in six years which is just bonkers. Probably depends on how a few of those older bodies hold up to another 12 months of bash n crash.

Oh, and I avoided the pre-game due to nerves but just watched some of the youtube clip you posted of Meatloaf. Holy snapping arseholes Batman, that is quite possibly the worst performance of ANY form I have ever seen ever. Those Simply The Best special needs kids were better. Literally, they were better.

I think he meant that as a get well smiley!

Also, not awesome: distant relatives who think they are better than you and cause nothing but trouble.

Here in California, my father's side of the family participates in a big Swiss picnic, celebrating our, well, Swiss-ness. I was looking forward to going, seeing as I haven't been to one in about 6 years, living in Colorado and such, and it is a great time to catch up with all my Cali relatives.

So, I find out via facebook that the picnic took place last weekend, and no one in my family even told me about it. Not my cousins, my aunts, uncles, grandma, brothers, etc. They all know I'm back in Cali.

Not feeling the family love.

Not nice :/

After way too much time spent thinking and over-thinking, I eventually tried and got rejected by the girl I had a crush for earlier this year (not that I wasn't expecting it, but a part of me was strangely filled with an optimism that rarely graces me). It was great to fill the void with hope for a bunch of months for a change, though being in the expectative was tough sometimes (already had some shitty days this summer, which in a way doesn't make it so hard today, weird).
The good thing is that I finally kicked my shyness in the nuts today  (no matter how haphazard this kick actually was  ), something I had failed at most of my life. The bad thing is that my life still blows in cataclysmic dimensions, just a bit less than yesterday.
Now hopefully I'll find a way to keep motivated and stop watching my life like I'm just a spectator, and keep moving forward. 2011, though not over, has been a strange year for me.
