OH! I'm so sorry! How disappointed you must be. Courage and strength, friend.

Dr. Garret FitzGerald, one of the most highly-regarded politicians that this country has ever produced, and also usually held as one of the best Taoiseach's we've ever had, died today. What a strange week it's been for the political scene in this country...

I just spent the last hour and a half attempting to clean disgusting neglect, likely since before my time as a tenant.
Long story medium-length, I discovered my mysterious leak was coming from my water heater. Needed to move my oven to get to it (I sadly admit this is how I found the location of my water heater, which until now never crossed my mind, though I was also never told by the estate agent, but I digress).
In the two years I've lived in my flat, I've never been able to move the oven until now - the last time I tried was to vacuum around, and when I couldn't, I presumed it was bolted to the wall.
It was actually stuck; moving it I discovered my leak had caused a large sludge puddle underneath my oven, before the door of the water heater; said sludge was an unholy shade of brown. Even worse was the crud around the heater; when I found the leak, I instantly smelled dead shit, and I pity the plumber coming tomorrow to fix it. It's still dripping, which will negate some of my work, and I do not look forward to the weekend where I have decided to spend a day solely on this area.

Some people would consider that a good thing.

Personally, I sometimes wish reddit had its datacenter burnt to the ground. Then maybe I'd get some shit done.

My friend tells me that her life is hell and that he constantly cuts herself. And she knows how to do that too. What to do?

I do talk to her and I always can talk to her "above" these things, like they were just minor issues somewhere in the backround, or if we talk about her mess we do it in a purely descriptive way rather than a normative way.

But is there anything else?

This person probably needs more help than just you can give her...you're being very kind in trying, but cutting is almost addictive in some people and they need serious therapy.

Grandma had a stroke.
Just when things started to look a bit better, after we lost grandpa just months ago.
Now she's recovering in our local hospital, but there's not much they can do to help her recover.
It makes me again so sad to see her just sitting there on her bed, having nothing to keep her active at least in some way,
nurses just checking on her and helping her eat four times a day.
I know she would love to have at least a radio to listen to, she loves music, but since there are other patients in the room,
they are not allowed to bother them.
How come the rooms even have TVs then?

Going to see her this sunday.
I will hug her the best way I can! :D

Wish I could sneak Mushu there to see her..
I know seeing this happy face would make her happy too! :D
