Thanx. Hilarious. I'm gonna use that.

I'm on my 4th listening or something like that. Sometimes the album is very chaotic like in Mighty masturbator and Deconstruction. The musicianship is oftentimes brilliant and the screams along with catchy riffs and crescendos. And the voice maaaan beautiful; falsettos and effortful growling. Much variety in voice, style and rhythm. I love that when it's done well.

I listened to the first few songs of the album on my way to work and they just lit up my day! The album is a big bite to swallow and a auditory rollercoster.

Seems like another milestone for tha Dev.

But I don't think Devin should use this style all to often. I categorize this album with the Ziltoid album as it is really heavy yet varied and humorous( and serious too).

We need a 5.1 mix of Decon. I just listened to Steven Wilson's 5.1 DTS mix of KC's Lizard, and I actually sat through the whole thing. That's a very dense album as well, especially for 1970. I always found it really hard to listen to, because of so much going on. But in 5.1 the elements are literally spread out and given room to breathe. What SW has accomplished with these old KC albums is amazing, especially Lizard.

I can just imagine if SW got his hands on Decon, Infinity, Terria, hell the whole back catalogue. Fuck. How awesome would that be?

I couldn't agree more. Dev is a master at mixing himself but I think the depth of his bed tracks and wall of sound would really come out in 5.1

Having never heard a 5.1 album, I can't have an opinion, but Decon seems perfect for a surround mix. All that stuff going on, damn, that would be godly.
SW would hands be down the one to do it.

However, would surround kill the intended sound? As we only have two ears, stereo is supposed to be more than enough to give us a '3D' image. But please correct me if that's wrong.

they gota be a lossless format not dolby 5.1 which is lossy. personaly i`d rather have a super quality 192/24 quality in stereo than a lossy 5.1 version which i cant utilize due to not having a 5.1 system or any stereo system but on the other hand i have a $500 pair of headphones that sound just as good as a $2000 2ch system.

Stereo gives us kind of a limited 3D image (although I visualize it as more of a 2D image since theres just a single line between L & R channels), as of course you can't program stereo sound to seem like its coming from in front of us, behind us, above us, etc. 5.1 would fix that, the whole two ear thing doesn't matter because we've got practically spherical hearing with each ear :D

I'm totally game for some 5.1 if Dev's up to it :D
