Just woke up. I have a craving to understand all things (I'm hungry for a cheeseburger).

Message of the lyrics aside, the music in this album left me waking up and feeling like two comets slapped my face at the same time and my head had nowhere to go. Let's listen again!!!

It really makes me think of if Arcturus scored a Tim Burton movie.

As soon as Deconstruction had finished, I put on Arcturus. :P

the_s_rabbit wrote:OK, this is probably just me, but I'm getting a Eurythmics-like vibe from the pace, rhythm, and delivery of the lyrics in a couple places.

From Stand, this part in the beginning:
"Some may leave us
…Take us or leave us..."

And now in POTA
"I SAY HAVE IT YOUR WAY!
I STAY HEAVY FOR MY GOD!"

Reminds me of "Sweet Dreams", i.e.,
"Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused"

Anybody else hear/feel it?

edit: Just heard it again in Sumeria

"Shower the world where it's trying to be.
How the memories have taken a leave.
Now they're here and they're lying to me!
Accountable man, nothing is free."

"Sweet dreams are made of these,
Who am I to disagree..."

"Hey, am I going insane, or does someone else hear some similarities between Sumeria's chorus and Eurythmics Sweet Dreams? :D" -Me on the page 42. So, you're not alone. :)

Now THAT's a concept my good man.

Total Sweet Dreams kick on Sumeria. Sweetness indeed.
The end also reminds me of Toki Wartooth's Solo material. :)

Greg Puciato showed up at the last minute and kills it. I mean absolutely steals it from all of the other guests, cept maybe Paul M.

Weren't you going to wait until the official release to hear it?

Never said that. I said I was going to wait until I could get ghost so I could listen to them all back to back to back. But being in a chat with Violet, Steph, and others basically made me realize how circular my logic was when I had already heard addicted and ki so many times. I'll still go through with my plan for my first listen of Ghost.

And yes, I will purchase things like hell. My collection isn't quite as expansive as say, some of the folks here, but it's pretty massive.

If you meant about my point earlier in the thread, like I said, it does nothing to encourage discussion when folks are sitting around waiting for a leak and feeling entitled to it. If it's out, it's out. Once Dev said what he said, then yeah, I went for it. Also, I was really talking about Sumeria, wanting to hear it in context of the album.

So I'm only SLIGHTLY hypocritical. S'cool, the universe is a cheeseburger.

That whole part (6:58-10:12) is one of my favourite moments on the album. Makes me wish Devin did an album full of this danceable stuff.

I dunno if it works nearly as effectively out of context, but I've been dying for more Project EKO, so maybe a combo of the two.

I think it will. Not these parts of course, but new music designed to be standalone.

(6:58-10:12) should be (6:58-11:38) by the way. It's almost five minutes of party.
