I am mostly a local Metal dude these days. Alot of that stems from being a cheap bastard. In so many cases I can either drop $22+ to stand in the way back and squint at a bunch of dudes playing the same riffs and screaming the same basic lyrics over as a band at a smaller club where I've seemingly earned front position and it goes me a $10 cover. In either case, it always seems I know someone in the band or am at least known to them and heckle them somehow be it through words or dance.
