Naww, don't be silly.

Good lass! I flew for the first time last year alone and honestly, it was more awesome than scary when you're up in the air, even though I was absolutely terrified beforehand. I had to get a lift to the airport with a friend to make sure I actually got on the plane and to stop me from just legging it.
Pro tip: don't watch shitloads of Air Crash Investigation before you go :P
Hope to see you join us in November. :)

Took me approx. 45mins by plane (so an hour altogether including customs and whatnot) to get to Amsterdam so literally it'll take just about an hour into Stanstead/Heathrow if that. :)

Hahahaha seriously? Well, maybe I can find someone on this forum who travels form Holland as well, that will make it a bit easier.
But first things first, first I have to buy the tickets and get my passport..

Yup, seriously. :D
I know there's a couple of guys coming over from Holland for it, but I'm not sure how they'll be travelling but we'll see. Still, plenty of time to sort everything out.
Hope you make it, m'dear. The more the merrier and all that jazz. :)

I'm cool with planes. I've probably flown like 300 times in total due to my dad always living abroad. BUT FUCK AIRPORTS! That shit is brutal. Fuck taking off my belt. All of that aside, overcoming your fear of planes is probably better sooner than later, and it will save you a fair amount of time. :p

Fuck airports, indeed!

But the flying experience in itself is kickass! :D I never get tired of taking off and landing. I get excited like a child every time! And I get equally absorbed by the view. "Omg there's that town, and there's that place! WHAT'S THAT?!"
First time I was on an airplane, as a 5-yearold or something, I told my mum "I'll hold your hand", 'cause she looked scared. :P

Not sure if hearing me rant about my airplane obsession is any comfort, but it was worth a shot. xD

Never been on a plane.

I'm one of those unfortunate souls who's been as far north and as far south of the UK without ever leaving. Haven't even been to Ireland! Although I've spent more than my fair share on caravan holidays, so that totally makes up for it, no?

Looking into getting my passport soon - me and my mrs are desperate to go to Canada and/or Finland. Really want to go to Tuska too.

*raises hand*

Me and a friend are definitely going. Most likely we'll take the Eurostar because it's all sorts of awesome (less awesome than flying though) and takes us right where we need to be. Since we both live in the south it's a fairly easy connection to Brussels. The international train from Roosendaal goes straight to Brussels, although I'm not sure what it's more northerly stops are (Rotterdam / Amsterdam?). That takes about an hour and a half, then 2 and a half in the Eurostar and we're smack dab in the center of London.

But if you're further north you might be better off flying, which can be a bit daunting if you're departing from Schiphol which is huge. Don't worry though, their signaling is excellent. Just check what method is actually cheapest, because if you end up needing a train in England you could be paying a whole lot more.

This. Though if you do choose to fly, a single ticket from Heathrow and most airports round London is £5 to Kings Cross (I think) which is cheap. But trains to/from anywhere else in England are ridiculously expensive and horribly unreliable so closer to the time if you know you're going to end up needing one, try and get your tickets online in advance (try here first) and you'll save a shedload on the total fare.

I'd take a train, but I don't think I'd successfully cross the Atlantic.

We're still not quite sure about that? Dev mentioned that the tickets that sold out were just an allotment of the total number so there may still be more... We haven't really had any major news since... Plus, there might be a lot of people selling nearer the time. A ton of people bought them just to have them without making plans and people are flying in from all over the world so travel things might fall through and all that. So even if they are gone you might still pick one up down the road!
