Well, i just got back from the show like an hour or so ago, and what a show it was... 10/10.

The sound quality was REALLY REALLY good, and it seemed like it got even better when the DTP started to play.

The DTP sounded REALLY good tonight and HEAVY! Really heavy, and good. I honestly didn't think it was going to be such a good show, and more so after reading shiram's review of the Montreal show stating: "Too bad the sound was not great, it sounded like it came out of laptop speakers and then amplified, too much highs." but it was above and beyond my expectations. If he comes back to Toronto later this year and/or next year and does the whole VIP thing again i will definitely purchase another pair of VIP tickets.

Tesseract had some mic problems at the beginning of their set, but it eventually got better, and were alright live.

Shirts were 20 bucks for both the DTP and Tesseract. Tesseract's EP was $10, and a shirt+CD combo was $25. Tesseract had 3 shirts for sale, and didn't have the one from their pre-order for sale at the show. The DTP had like 5-6? and one hoodie priced @ $35. I wanted a hoodie, but they didn't have my size.

The opening band Manahan had two shirts for sale if i'm not mistaken, a hat, and their debut CD priced @ $10.

Tesseract's drumhead was $25, and so was the DTP one. Both signed by all the members in the band.

A few pics:

Signed by only 3 of the 5 'cas the other two were busy somewhere, and i didn't feel like asking them when they were available when they were around the merch stand later on:

Also not seen are the two VIP shirts.

I was going to get both pairs of drumsticks from both Ryan and the drummer from Tesseract signed at the end of the show, but i didn't want to wait 20-30 mins after the show until Ryan was done packing his equipment, and could do so 'cas i live an hour+ away from the venue. Next time, though.

And here's the shirt that i got from my pre-order:

I was there last night, First of all Manahan who I heard for the first time last night were amazing Hats off to those guys. The singer guitarpalyer bassest and drummer were all awome I hope they go far in their career. Tesseract's preformance I'm sorry but I just wasn't all that impressed by the guitar wanking solos or the lead singer leaving the stage every 5 minutes to go out for "fresh air" I think he said. I found their sound a bit monotone and maybe I was just anxious to see Devin but I honestly couldn't wait for them to finnish. Sorry guys.

The Dev was so fricken amazing, the sound quality was superb, and the band was truley fantastic. When they started Life Dev and the whole band were smiling ear to ear and the crowd went nuts. I have never seen Brian look so happy lol. I filmed the entire show on my high def sony camcorder from the first balcony. The sound quality of my recording isn't the geatest because I was too close to a speaker but I will post some clips when I get a chance. It was nice to see so manny fans enjoying the show from up there. Dev scared this poor dude on the stage by crawling beteween his legs. The dude felt something and looked back like wtf and then jumped off the stage and flattened a couple of ppl it was tff.

After the show devin stopped and had a meet and great with the fans outside and took photo's and signed autographs. What a down to earth humble guy. A real class act!

I wasn't there but do love going to shows at the MOD Club. It's got a great PA, the balcony is awesome and it is just the right size for mid-level touring acts.

Judging from the pic's above, I was in that exact spot for Gojira on their last tour.

Seeing DTP tonight and will post in the appropriate thread.

You're welcome, though they're decent in quality and the better ones that i took that night.

Yeah, it was my first time there actually and the people working there were great.

I last saw Nevermore a few weeks ago @ the Opera House and the sound quality was horrible, i was surprised 'cas it's Nevermore and the last time i was @ the Opera House was for Behemoth and the SQ was amazing comared to Nevermore.

And i think it was like 7 or so years from the last time they were here.

I want to thank Dev for the most amazing musical experience of my life!!! More than could have ever expected... and I was expecting the best. I would have been very content with the meet and greet acoustic show but I was blown away with the close to 2hrs you guys put on

Thanks!!!

Had an awesome time. The VIP thing before the show was amazing. I really appreciated Dev coming back to me again to take a photo once I found someone with a decent camera. I also got to poop in the stall next to him which is something I'm strangely proud of.

Was pretty pleased with the two support acts. Cory Manahan is a great shredder, and the bass player from Tessaract was ridiculous. Had a lot of fun with Ziltoid radio between sets, though I mistimed my last pee break and almost ran over Dev on my way to the bathroom just as he was about to take the stage. I don't think he was too thrilled with me asking him to wait for me to come back before starting, but he's too nice of a guy to say anything about it.

The DTP sounded great. The energy was incredible, and the setlist had tons of variety. I was thrilled that they swapped in Gaia (possibly at the last minute, as it was sharpied in on the set list), and my buddy Max got his face humped when Dev came over our way during the solo and caught him texting. Ended up catching one of Brian's picks at the end, which has a picture of Beavis on the opposite side. All in all, this was probably my favourite concert experience ever.

Anyway, here's some pics:

I'd never heard of Manahan 'til I came in this thread. Sounds like they were just openers for this show and no other shows.

I'm listening to their tunes on Myspace and I like what I hear. I would have liked to see them open the other shows! And frankly I think they're better than Tesseract.

Well, you're one up on me. I've never been to a show at the Opera House that had adequate sound. That is bar-none the worst live venue in Toronto. Unfortunately, stupid Noel from Inertia routes nearly every metal show there. In the past few years I have just given up. For the amount of time I have to invest in going to a show there, the return is never worth it. It takes me 2hrs to get there and 2hrs back. I would have loved to have seen Immortal recently but I just refuse to give Noel or the Opera House any more of my money. I've seen so many good shows there that have been absolutely ruined by horrible sound. Not to mention, there isn't a decent sight line in the whole goddamn bar unless you are right on the balcony rail or front row at the stage. I guess if you are over 6ft tall it would be ok but I am not.
With The Mod Club, Lee's Palace, the Phoenix, the Koolhaus, and a few other clubs that I forget the name of, there is no excuse for that pile of shit venue to continue.

It's most likely 'cas it costs less for him. I'll have to send him a PM later tonight about this issue and see what he says 'cas it is a waste of money no matter what band is playing if the sound quality sucks...

Symphony X and Nevermore, along with two other bands, will be playing at the Opera House for Symphony X's headlining tour on April 27th, and i'm not sure if i'll go 'cas it's at that same venue.

I would have really liked to have seen Vader with Immolation last month as well but I'm just not going to that place anymore. I'm not much of a Symphony X or Nevermore fan but I sympathize with your situation.
