You mean the way they come in? I agree. The "and" is a bit off...also, the tom fill there is a bit weak, so they don't mesh well. I've been thinking about changing that fill for months, but ya know...I have the WHOLE rest of the album to worry about too.

I'm a bit surprised no one is commenting on Bliss at the end....best part I think.

I did like that. It was really cool, awesome way to end the song. I really liked the samples in it, how subtle they are and how they become more prominent.

I go away for a week and come back to find awesomeness - I wish that happened more often lol

Still sounding good man - I can't wait to hear bliss with some decent headphones, although I sometimes thought that the kit sounds in bliss seemed a bit too prominent sometimes. Whether it's a case of a tiny volume adjustment, or rolling the top end off a little bit to dull it - I'm not sure.

Although to be fair for that sort of thing, I've always dulled the top end a bit much in my mixes.

How many vocalists do you reckon you'll have by the end of this whole thing? Did you ever get in touch with that Dan Tompkins guy from Tesseract/K Project for doing a little bit of vocals - although I recall something about contractual obligations on his part now?

Might still be worth an email, I love that international electronic collaboration stuff.

I totally know what you mean about that high end thing. I was thinking the same, and I appreciate it.

As far as singers...I dunno. I do know that I will be taking a more active role though. My recent vocals on Terminus and Paramount are sounding fantastic. I am getting better, and more confident. I've had nothing but good feedback.

I just ordered a Shure SM-7, which should really kick my vocal productions and performances in the arse. should be here sometime this week.

Dan? No, I emailed him...but he hasn't got back to me. He is probably much too busy now.

Bummer dude, with any luck he might pop back to you at some point in the future.

And good call on the SM7 - since the Supercrush tracking video I've been experimenting with it myself at uni. I'm liking it, but I'm not sure if i prefer it over my Rode NTK though - I love that mic.

Sweet! Any advice?

Edit: I mean, about the Sm-7 and how to use it...

Dude, sounds huge! The drum track is pushed back quite a bit but I think it would be okay. Don't want it battling out with the rest too much. Something about the vocals I don't dig too much... it seems to be the weird errr... robotic track tacked on? Sounds like you are doing something to your voice. Great singing though.

You mean the delayed voice behind the main? with the telephone effect?

Your voice seems to fit the music well, don't be afraid to use it more throughout the others songs as well. There's a couple of spots where you're a little off-key, but it shouldn't be anything that can't be pitch-corrected if need be.

Hope you don't mind me also giving a bit of criticism, I realize how important this is to you. It's just that I'd love to hear the final product as close to perfect as can be. :)

I heard those little instances too. Even though it wasnt "perfect" I think Dan's voice fits the music incredibly well.

you'd be surprised at how crazy I drive myself getting those pitches and tones to where they are. I am not a naturally gifted singer, so I REALLY have to work at it. I've already V-vocaled a few things. Looks like it isn't working too well. Here are the lyrics, tell me where you notice i the most...cuz I guess I don't:

When life is borderline, remembering on a call
You've got to lift your feet and dance before you fall
We're looking at an ocean blue as the light sky
Remembering all the things you've said

When all the other ones they mentioned honesty
It's a freedom in my mind

Those are the 3 syllables that stand out to me. They're all in the first sentence, which makes sense because it's easier to sing something when you're already in the flow I guess. I italiced 'blue' because I'm not sure about it being off, but I think that's where you're reaching your vocal range limit?

I appreciate it, and you are correct...Well, it's definitely not the top of my range, but it is just such an awkward word to sing like that, but i like the word blue lol. I've thought about changing it. We'll see. I just have to realize if I get TOO picky I will be recording this album for YEARS. I have to remember, it is the first for us...There is and has to be room for growth.
