That review thread in the "Addicted" forum. I didn't even know until I signed onto here that Addicted was even out. But MAN was that thread a chore to read...

I don't have a dress code at my work (DTP Addicted hoodie this week!) but it has been similarly awesome for me to do absolutely bugger all these last few days.

But, this is not that thread.

UN-awesome: Sitting at my desk in my office on Christmas Eve BORED.

My laptop has finally died, by the looks of things! BSOD after BSOD... I think it may finally be time to lay it to rest. And now I must decide whether to get a new one with Vista or fork out an additional 70 quid for double the memory and Windows 7.

I don't think you can even buy Vista computers anymore, now that 7 is out. Maybe some leftover stock, but they will always come with a free upgrade to 7 (only some shipping and handling charges, because apparently it's impossible to provide this online).

Oh and if 7 is an option, you should never even want to get Vista anymore.

Dell always seem to have backwards OS on sale. I got my laptop as an XP when Vista was released, but that could be to do with Vista being a steaming pile of shite when it first emerged! I did think they'd all be on 7, so I was delighted to see I could get a new Inspiron 15 for €379, only then to find it was Vista and a 7 system costs €449... My own laptop is currently reformatting it's HD though so there may be life in the old dog yet.

Well if they still have this free upgrade campaign you're in for a cheap OS upgrade then. I think it runs until the end of January, not sure though.
