One of my uncles just died. Yesterday was a pretty awesome day and today is about as un-awesome as it gets.

mushu lost the babies.
there were only two puppies, so they had grown really big.
due to mushu's age, she wasn't able to give birth to them, and the vet
didn't see the need to do a c-section on her, even though it would have been the only way to save the puppies.
we were close to losing mushu too.
the puppies were sooo huge that her womb was almost ripped.
if the pups had grown for even one more day, the over-stretched womb would have given up and killed them all.

it breaks my heart to know that she tried to give birth to the dead pups, unable to deliver them due to her age, her size and pups' sizes and weakened womb, being in pain without us being able to help her any more than we did.

we could get a hold of one vet who was on weekend duty, but she said only to wait and keep an eye on mushu.
i am sorry that the vet (who did mushu's ultra and x-ray) didn't see the situation throughly enough and go on with the operation that could have saved them all.

to know that mushu suffered and was hurt and near death was and is just too painful for me.
i know i couldn't do anything more, but i just wish the vet would've operated her before it was too late.

i am so sorry for her.
she is physically well now, but mentally still unstable.
i miss her!


(dogs will be back after we have all our stuff in the new house)
