There's a few torrents around claiming to have the album, but none of them have seeds as of yet, although one's got 137 leechers regardless!

All fakes, obviously. People, it seems, are as stupid as ever...

Not sure if this has been posted, but Addicted can be heard here, and the sound quality is sooo much better than the youtube/radio rip: http://www.noisecreep.com/2009/10/06/de ... -premiere/

Sounds so damn good, can't wait for it to come in the mail next month!

Also, happy thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians. I'm alone this year... :( But at least I have a new Devy tune to keep me going!

Happy thanksgiving mang.

You all good? I'm happily puttering away on music, both studio and live. Rehearsals are great, Ryans a monster, and Dave and Beav are tight as heck.

Deconstruction moves along, although truth be told, I get inspired to do it only occasionally. The record has to be postive in the long run, and heavy positive runs the risk of being vanilla unless the inspiration is authentic. So I just let it come when it wants to.

Family shit abounds, crazy in laws and relatives, every family's got 'em.

It's funny though, I think ours and our parents generation were raised in a time of privilege, to the point that when the normal hardships of a cruel world impose themselves on ALL of us, I find that almost everybody is looking for someone to complain to , and have sympathize. It's like everybody assumes that they have it harder than everybody else. The lady at the auto insurance place, broke down talking about the death of her parents while we were dealing with 2 deaths in our family, but her tone was INTENT on letting us know how hard she has had it.

I guess thats why humor, dance, and music is so important as well, because you know...there's usually one 15 minute chunk of light per month, and if we were to focus on the negative, there would be no time to do anything else. It's funny...when people would ask me 'how are you doing' I'd barf a ton of trauma on whoever asked. Now, it seems nicer to say. 'I'm good', because again, every day is full of potential.

A friend of mine yesterday said something I thought was cool: 'Addiction is a disease of the ego', where YOU'RE comfort and happiness is more important to you than anything else.

And another friend, when asked about free will vs. fate, answered that you can't control anything but your reactions to things.

I'm going to go shower, then install a smaller cat door to keep the raccoons out.

I like the grammar nazi game, or at least I do when I get to have a go. 'Addiction is a disease of the ego', where YOU'RE comfort and happiness is more important to you than anything else. See, I feel I'm finally growing up now I've started feeling comfortable about using the term 'one' (as your) when referring to ones self.

The bit about 'anything but your reactions to things' seems duff the more I think about it.

Cat flap information film...

Sorry, can't believe I did that to you.

I do like the way that was phrased though, it's a brilliant way of putting Addiction in to a single sentence.

I really only posted because I had mental images of 'Devin Townsend DIY' - this week: Installing a cat flap. I had a flash forward of yourself with a home improvement addiction leaving your house structurally unsound but with plenty of cat flap functionality.

Does Cat Face humour work for you?

Happy Thanksgiving! Don't let the raccoons get your pie!

"'Addiction is a disease of the ego', where YOU'RE comfort and happiness is more important to you than anything else."

I was amazed to find out the world didn't revolve around me. It's quite a relief too no longer feeling responsible for the fate of the universe.

One day at a time man.

This is completely off topic, but whatever.

Dev, I was wondering - being Canadian and all, do you happen to be a fan of hockey?

I'm not sure what I expect the answer to be. On one hand, Canadian. On the other hand, you don't seem to be the kind of guy who digs professional sports.

I was about to do it before I read your post, beat me to the punch. :)

But yeah, it happens to everyone. We all need a little sympathy sometimes.
then again we all need a kick in the ass sometimes too.

Man I'm stoked on turkey tonight.

All my buddies are though, go figure.

Hockey went well with beer.
