I felt the same way !! There's something about that last song "awake" and the ambient ending... Really looking forward to it.

Teles are my absolute guitar of choice. Pickups are personal. EMGs are great fro that metal sound, but there's a ton of options. I like the Gibson 59s, The SD Distortion, The Tone Zone, Lollar single coils...all great.

The PV is being worked out. In all honesty, You can't beat a strat or tele if you want a strat or tele. So with PV, I'm just working on a spaceship, the 7 string baritone V, in grey...and we're on the second prototype. It's a Ziltoid guitar and super cool. When the chips are down though, and I want to play a tele, or a les paul, thats what I play.

If I can work out some details, the V might be introduced at Namm...it's a hard process though, PV are huge.

59's are risky for metal, just fyi.

Duncan distortions are all purpose and cheaper.

Regular old Duncan Distortion pickups? Really? I've been wanting to try them for years.

Personally though, I've come to like the Duncan Blackout's more than EMGs....soo much sustain.

Played a Blackout in a Fender Celtic Tele and almost bought it on the spot, still might get it if the store has it, thing was AMAZING all around.

Hi,
The Tele Custom 2 is way cheaper in germany, maybe an import pays off?
http://www.thomann.de/de/fender_squier_ ... p90_bk.htm
I haven't played it, but this guitar has a veeeeeeeeery good reputation in german forums..
In terms of pickups, you can also buy an sh4 and a ceramic magnet, or a sh6 and a alnico 5.. When you swap them, you get the other PU.
(sh4/6 with Alnico 2 is cool too by the way!)

Jim root has a signature fender telecaster in black or white with EMG:s and a fixed bridge.

Remove the pickguard and draw something on the jim root signature on the back of the head and you got yourself a fine devy guitar :)

Is the V gonna remain single pickup? I would really like that guitar, but I want a neck pickup too :)

You know what I'd want? A guitar exclusively for death metal, with a single pickup, no tone or even volume knob, just a simple on/off switch! If the switch was placed somewhere on the side, maybe next to the input jack, the front of the body would be completely devoid of knobs and stuff. :D As a 7-string baritone V this would pretty damn awesome. :chain:

For a thousand bucks you gould buy an esp ltd 8 string with emg 808 active pickups just like the one in my vid here. 8 strings are a load of fun to play.
