Listening to the Addicted teaser makes me think of how I liked the Ki teaser. Sure, it sounded interesting but I don't know what to make of it. For example, if I think of the parts of Ki (the song) that were in the teaser, it's barely a representation of what a climax that song builds up to. Addicted may be more straight-forward than Ki in terms of build-up or whatever, but I still find it difficult to judge how the album's going to be based on the teaser. If you recall the Nibz (Supercrush) clip on youtube you could only hear Anneke's voice in the final chorus that Dev recorded, so I think the entire song will be quite climactic and such. I just don't want to listen to the teaser too much, get an idea about the whole album and then find it's completely different and (unlikely but) possibly be let down.

For a blunt and crude (and totally inappropriate) metaphor: it's like watching 10 seperate clips of porn, and they're all moneyshots. Makes you appreciate it less, doesn't it? This is also a bad metaphor, because it assumes there's more to porn than... well, you know. Never mind, ignore this.


Anyway, all that being said, I love hearing a bit more context to the few clips we've already heard on youtube and already knowing Hyperdrive, that snippet sounds really awesome. As for the rest, I'll wait and uhh.. hear.

Wow, I am really surprised how many posts are just about the leak, or supposed leak. I guess I am more patient about things nowadays as I can wait until next month to get the actual CD in my hands. I would imagine that Devin isn't all that happy about all this talk as well. Maybe it is just me. To each its own I say. In the meantime I would hold my self over with some of his back catalog. I have not listened to a couple of CDs in quite a while. There is also some other good music out there that just came out to hold you over until then. Take for instance, Porcupine Tree "The Incident". Awesome CD, or should I say double CD. Combines old Porcupine Tree with new.

The annual leak post cycle is hilarious. It happens every time.

First there are 20 posts about whether there will be a leak or not. Then comes a few posts about a leak that turns out to be fake.
Then an actual leak happens. The leak is first discussed in the album's topic until a mod gives up on deleting the posts and makes a sticky to people who want to discuss the leak (aka topic for spoilers). Now two topics exist: to those who downloaded it and to those who didn't. But it's not over yet. Soon a third topic emerges. In this third topic, both groups discuss whether it's right or wrong to download a leak. In this topic people will either post "I downloaded but I will buy it when it comes out " or "I won't download it because it is wrong and I want to support Dev!".

..aaand a month later the album really does comes out and things are back to normal.

It's really wierd that people think it's okay to share (even fake) links at the OFFICIAL FORUM. Show some decency, even if Dev is okay with downloading, it ain't right to post these links here.
The anticipation for this leak is somewhat insane, and some of you are bound to end up in disappointment.
