Quite different to what I expected.
Much more variety in the song overall.
That weird solo/choir thing in the middle is awesome. Infinity-esque.
This needs to be played very loud.I love the chorus!
I'm guessing its the crap audio quality that is giving the guitar that weird sound?

Dev said they were debuting 2 songs right?
So fingers crossed we get a recording of the other one then :-)

just listened to the web version ripped on youtube!

It's awesome! But i'm pretty sure there are a ton of details that really help define the general direction of addicted (the album) totally lost in compression - either that or that quiet synth base i heard is just just compression artifacts

and the solo really reminds me of older Vai stuff (before he got married to his whammy pedal :D ), with a devy twist, which is awesome!

Ryan, i can't tell because of the audio quality, but is there any electronic drumwork on the song, or is that all hihat work?

As in the past I will resist my urges to download the album. Though that is a tough battle against willpower for me on every release.

I keep going back to time marker 1:08 on the teaser. Tracks 3, 4 and 5 sound amazing and segue really well (as well as three 30 second samples can) with each other. I'm digging Anneke's take on Hyperdrive. For those who are curious there are a bunch of YouTube videos of her singing it with her band Agua De Annique. Even live her vocal abilities are into the stratosphere.

I knew it was a going to be a good album when my 2 year old started moshing around the living room when the sample from Bend It Like Bender fired up. She was headbanging and everything.

Always curious to know how Devin finds these incredibly talented musicians? On every music release he seems to find these people who have had very little in the way of exposure to the mainstream yet can play circles around EVERYONE! He's like the music equivalent of an NFL talent scout.

Really looking forward to this album. Many thanks for giving us a taste of the main course yet to come.

Oh by the way, that 15 second snip of Supercrush and Numbered made me cry like a baby.
