Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Once again I jizzed in my pants at the 1:56 mark.

Hopefully the jizz will keep flowing at the beginning of the week....I am so so so soooo nervous about showing everyone the vocals on Motion. They definitely don't suck...but they're just demos, ya know? I feel like I am walking on eggshells....

Just do it man, shamelessly! I had a problem with my music at first, I thought it wasnt good enough until everyone started praising some of my stuff.

NP: After the Burial - Aspiration

<3 this song so much.

Do you not have it, or you do, just not the vinyl? Well if you don't have it...

Buy it! You won't be disappointed. The sign of a good band, is that new material is as good as the classic stuff! I suppose Alucard isn't a fan of Vapor Trails, but it's one of my favorite - so since opinion is divided, you'll have to listen to it for yourself and come up with your own verdict! :D
Vapor Trails is the heaviest Rush album I can think of, so that might appeal to you.

No, I don't have Snakes and Arrows. If I did I would like to get it on vinyl but since the original release is sold out I have to get the marked up prices off other websites. So I guess I'll just have to go for the CD release. I would love to have all the Rush albums on vinyl. I have 2112 through to Moving Pictures on vinyl (all original releases) and am bidding on the three after that (Signals, Grave Under Pressure and Power Windows) as we speak, also on vinyl, but I don't want to "ruin" my collection by added CDs to it. That is inevitable considering the later albums will be impossible to get vinyl copies of.

I will order Snakes and Arrows. I am really excited about it. Maybe Vapor Trails too. I haven't heard a single song from the straight up rock era of RUSH.

Now playing: Immortality Through Art / Godless by Nile

It's worth mentioning to DsD, as I'm sure she jumps through hoops of internet research, that Mr. Graves went by the name Buddy Lackey during his Psychotic Waltz days. The only thing that would make PW "not as good" as Deadsoul Tribe would be production, in my opinion. Though, I haven't listened to either of those groups for a few years now...

Yeah I wiki'd them just today - and I read about PW. I dig it, I dig everything I've heard today involving Devon Graves - so I'm going to hit the CD store :D I'm excited!

islandsinthesky wrote:The production was a bit shite for PW. However the songwriting for DST seems to flow better for me. Perhaps it's because Devon has more songwriting control.

But the first two PW albums are definitely the best. I wouldn't say that Mosquito or Bleeding are terrible, though.

Oh that's unfortunate. I'm still going to get my Devon Graves on, but it really sucks that it doesn't sound as good as it should :| :| So the verdict is get the first 2 DST CD's to start with?
Cool. I'm on it.

Test for Echo is awesome! Maybe gets a bit overlooked, but Virtuality, Test for Echo, Driven... all really good songs.

It might be too late, but I'd go for "The January Tree" and "Lullaby For The Devil".

The first two definitely won't disappoint, though.

I started with Hemispheres and have collected vinyls of all the albums surrounding it but I am stuck. I love it so much I haven't bothered to move past into the late 80's and beyond. I have read reviews of the later albums and they just don't sound like my cup of tea so I have been keeping away.

Maybe it is time to jump into the fire. Any recommendations for the first album I should try from everything released after Moving Pictures? I am very interested.

The subsequent 3 after MP are absolute sensations. Signals, Grace Under Pressure and of course the almighty Power Windows. Treat yourself, you won't be disappointed. Ignore the reviews and the fans who just wanted them to make Moving Pictures or Hemispheres pt 2. Plus, a again it's quirky (especially Signals), non-instant gratification music so give them all several listens. It's the only way to appreciate a band like Rush.

That reminds me, my friend Jon had a Rush cover band for a while, very true to Rush. 3 members, Jon played bass, sung, and did keys. Their name was Cygnals. I thought it was a DAMN good name for a Rush cover band, and they were really good themselves...minus the fact that their guitarist was pretty emotionless and was more interested in shredding than anything.

Yep, good name for a Rush cover band!

Sure...it will be up Sunday night. It will be a sample....about a minute or so long, because we are not happy with the verses. BUT, we are gonna make a soundclick account FOR YOU GUYS because you have been so awesome. We will post the whole song there. I am not sure that will happen Sunday night.....I hope so. It is up to Ryan I guess....he does all the uploading. I have a 56k.
