Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I wish these guys weren't so fucked up on drugs and still recording stuff. They were fucking great. Heacock's got one of the best voices ever in metal, in my opinion.

Hell yeah! The War Of Art is one of my alltime favourite metal albums

Such a good piece of metal

Joe Esposito - You're the Best Around

Really, when it comes to inspiration, if you listen to most other stuff, you're just wasting your time. Actually, today at work I told my assistants that I didn't think they were inspired enough (I get to play whatever I want at work, so they're very familiar with Devin by this point as well), so I played this song 15 times in a row. Then I stopped and told them that if they weren't inspired by this point to "Get the fuck out!" Needless to say, productivity increased, and I have this song to thank.

It had been a while since I listened to anything but ki ...
But this morning I was in a classical mood, so after listenind Verdi's Requiem (which is the most beautiful piece of music ever, ever and ever again) I'm listening to Rachmaninov Piano Concertos, that are beautiful and epic, I really love them <3 (and I love piano, which makes me love them even more :p)

(Oh my god, there doesn't seem to be ANY dvd of those concertos ... )

Virus - The Black Flux - http://www.myspace.com/czral
Their myspacepage states that these guys play "Progressive / Metal / Swing" and I wouldn't disagree. This avantgarde-rock combined with a jazzy attitude, and could probably be accused of being inspired by Voivod, Talking Heads and Coil. This record is pure quality, with its immense collection of wierd and innovative riffs and clever composing.
The main man behind this mean machine is Carl Michael Eide, also known as Aggressor or Czral connected to various acts as Aura Noir, DHG (Dødheimsgard), Cadaver, Ved Buens Ende.
This is highly recommended for people searching for something different to listen to. It's almost like Dev's music, you don't get acquainted with it until you'd heard the album about 10 times.

Fever Ray - www.myspace.com/feverray
Karin Dreijers (The Knife and vocals on Röyksopps "what else is there") own project. This is a woman with a unique voice that stands out in this singer-singwriterhell that most female artist tends to rely on these days. Some people wants you to believe that she's similar to Lisa Gerrard, but I beg to differ. The music is very dark ambient with a very shamanistic feel.
Bring forth them magic mushrooms and rejoice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBAzlNJonO8

This isn't for everyone (where have I heard that before?).
But if you prefer music that challenges you to listen more than just once, opposed to music handing you a icecream and a slap on the ass(metaphorically speaking y'all) - this is for you. Enjoy!
