Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Bastard! PLEASE let them come to Australia!

they wont. its like impossible to find their albums and when you finally do theyre like $30 each. especially the way of all flesh

I've actually read interviews with the lead singer where he says they're gunna try real hard to get to Japan and Australia this tour...

But not Norway? :/ Shit country. I should move somewhere else but I don't like big cities. Tired of having to get a plane to go see a band I like.

Listening to Liquid Trio Experiment. I have to say it sounds extremely empty without JP.

Doesn't Norway have plenty of it's own internationally recognized bands to go see?

Nunc Stans - Cynic. Just finishing the second best album ever yeah. And hey they're touring again? I must work out some way to see them.
And Norways modern metal scene sucks.

Only metalcore bands that sound like everything else. Think the best "local" band I ever saw live here was Hamuemon, a prog metal band of 5 17 year olds, they are really talented. Inspired by Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree and stuff. Was quite awesome.

BTBAM - All Bodies

Is it just me or is that intro riff, along with with the left guitar/right guitar/bass trade off some of the coolest sounding stuff ever? Also that intro is heavier than all hell.

Death Cult is good, but Enthrone Darkness Triumphant is my favorite Dimmu, good dark black metal with their symphonic side a little more refined.

NP: Queens of the Stone Age - Make It Wit Chu

Wish these guys would come back here.

Dreamside Dominions = my fave Dimmu song.

Alucard, i agree FF declined since they booted Dino, but being a fan i still think they wrote great music. They are still my favorite band and it sucks that they are on a haitus, possibly gone forever, to do Arkaea. They are just FF with far inferior, linkin park-ish vocals. :( Glad you like "My Grave" tho :D

At least my man Burton is writing new AOTW stuff.

WTB a studio version of this.

Dont talk about Jon like that, he's a really cool guy. Sure he is a little prima-donnaish for not exactly being a celebrity, but he has a good set of pipes on him.

I'm interested in hearing Arkaea. I asked to try out as their bassist when they first started it(if you havent noticed yet, I know Jon, the vocalist...) But I guess they decided to use the bassist of Threat Signal instead.

EDIT: NP: Mastodon - The Last Baron

Found a download of it ;) Cannot wait to own this album though, definitely want a proper rip for my ipod.

Could be about pot (drugs in general, since the album was written after Dev's first acid trip). Might be related to an interview in which Dev said he started seeing people as little pink blobs of meat going about their business. Or it could be related to the concept of pink noise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_noise), though I kind of doubt it. I think there's a thread about it in the Infinity discussion, if you're interested...

Thanks - I may check it out later. I suspect the first option is the most probable given the 'weirdity' of the whole song...but I've been known to be wrong....

Don't sound like soundalike Metalcore bands to me....

Oh you think they still play here? :p Closest place I'd have to go to see any of them is probably Oslo.

No, Ian Astbury is singing for The Doors. William DuVall is fronting Alice In Chains. He's quite good - I haven't seen them live, but I watched them perform at a Heart concert a few years ago on TV.
