One of my mom's Christmas tapes is playing in the background, it actually kind of rules. I think it's called a Midævael Christmas or something. I'm digging it! :D

<sing in your best round voice> Good King Wenceslas looked out,
on the feast of Stephen,
all the snow lay round about,
deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the... etc, etc. :D

*sings loudly, gestures having beer stein in hand* I LOVE those carols! The old ones are the best ones, in my opinion. Wenceslas rules, so does "We Three Kings;" they remind me of childhood and happiness! Good call Keeker!

Yup,me too.
Love all those standards. I totally get into the X-Mas mood that way.Midaevael Christmas? Cool. Makes me think of Mannheim Steamroller's Fresh Aire Christmas. They mixed old synths with midaevael instruments in a trippy way. One of my favorites.
I love vintage crooner Christmas stuff like Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and other 'rat' packers, too
But right now, it all metal
The Crown
Possessed 13
GWAR
War Party
Mastodon
Leviathan
Textures
Silhouettes
SYL
The Feather Album

I forgot how good Silhouettes was, haven't listened to it in a while. Realized how good it was again by having Old Days Born Anew come onto my ipod randomly earlier.

but NP: Sevendust - Seasons

Listen I dont care what you say about the band, I'm about to see them for about the 7th time and they are awesome everytime. I love the band and always will. Plus Seasons is their best album if you ask me.

Oh damn, that is awesome, Deth - in an old meets new kind of way :D I really enjoy mideavael music played on the proper instruments. It's a true art - I've got respect for anyone who can play the "Sacbut." http://www.music.iastate.edu/antiqua/instrumt.html

Am I the only one who really likes Gregorian Chants? I genuinely like them - I know a lot of people think they're boring though. T'is a shame :|

My guitar teacher in high school used to make us listen to Gregorian Chant. As dark as it sounds, I do find it boring. Not being a singer, I find a Capella quite boring.
