Ohoho, don't you even start that elitist crap with me. ;)

Persuader: Yup, comes with XP Home installed and it runs just fine. It's obviously not blazing fast but it does everything I need it to at quite a good speed. Not gonna be running Half-Life 2 on it or anything, but a DAW and a handful of plugins works quite well.

my latest purchase? A new deep E string. First string I've ever borken, and it's one of the harder ones to break. Whadda hell?

Bass E string or guitar? In any case, how'd you do that!?
One thing that irks me is that guitar strings are usually about $5-10 for a pack, but bass strings cost about $30.00+ for the cheaper kinds. Sucks.

I guess you mean for a bass. I had a friend that broke his, and it left a nice big welt on his chest. Pretty amusing, in retrospect.

I've broken my share of E through e strings on mah gih-tar, but luckily my strings are a bit cheaper. :D

Twas the guitar one I broke. It snapped at the bridge. The coil was still in place, but the string underneath was destroyed. xD So I got to restring for the first time today.

I've also decided I should learn how to string a guitar better. xD

I believe it! I've never broken any bass strings, but I've had some cello strings pop me in the face. It leaves a gnarly gnarly wound :)

Be happy it was only a guitar strings you broke, they're epically cheaper!

You'll get better at it with practice. I used to be terrible at it, but now I can string a guitar in my sleep.

Oh, and play better, too. :D

I'm getting there with the better playing bit. Dabbling around in E standard and the C Major tuning, and finding they are both fantastic. I think I need to buy a second guitar so I don't have to retune every other day if I want to paly one or the other. xD

Not a bad idea -

my brother's a guitar player - he owns a couple guitars, but wants to buy an inexpensive 7 string and keep it permanently tuned to the Devy tuning. I support this idea wholly. =D

Yeah, I'd like to get a 7-string, so that I could have a guitar in open C, a guitar in standard, and a 7-string to switch between standard and open C. Epic for so many styles of music.
