New band of Sybreed's former drummer. In fact, it's essentially Sybreed clone, with some minor differences (like bit more technical guitar parts in places). So if you like Sybreed, you'll like ETNA, it's the same catchyness, tranceish samples/synths and great drumming.

Been listening to these guys for months and I also recommend them!

Kong are weird.

Drummer and bassist from Oceansize (as recommended before) and a singer/guitar player.

They've just released their first single (a 2-track 7" vinyl ) via Brew Records. I'm not sure what to make of it yet... But it's pretty cool. It's raw. It's big. It's been getting great reviews (#1 on Kerrangs list of songs you must have heard last week I believe).

Also available on iTunes and the likes, I believe.

Soundtrack recommendations!

This is hands down the greatest soundtrack I've ever heard. Zimmer and Newton Howard have created something truly epic here. It painfully beautiful, outstandingly dark, menacing and sinister, the ambience is gorgeous and the heavier twangs are just.. Everything on it will just suck you in and hold your attention and its really just a masterpiece of an album.

Image

Another slab of brilliance here, this time from Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead fame. This one soars like the oil bursts to the sky and crashes like the dredgers in the earth. The sounds are as bleak as the landscapes and events of the movie, and in the bleakness lies the immense beauty of the pieces in this album..

2007's been a good one for top-quality soundtracks! I'd strongly suggest people check these out.

to make this short because if I'm on a roll, I'll sit here for the next 15967696 hours writing about all these Albums.
So...the new Cult of Luna Album (for fans of Neurosis and all that post hardcore /metal stuff), the new Nachtmystium Album (I'd call this LSD Black Metal), the new Klimt1918 Album (kinda like pop rock like Coldplay or U2 meets Sigur Rós), the latest Sigur Rós Album (if you don't know them I can't help you either), the latest Audrey Horne Album (kinda like 70's rock meets modern metal), the new Benediction Album(old school Death Metal with lotsa groove and Dave from Anaal Nathrakh on the mic)...they are all very lovely and you should listen to them or you are so not cool at all and will never have any success with the opposite sex..and probably not with the same sex either...but you can always try Biert and Sab because they are always desperate.

Defuntos - Sangue Morto

Image

1. A Caminho da Morte
2. Nos Olhos Da Lembrança
3. O Nosso Funeral…
4. 3-XII-1871
5. Nas Árvores, O Esplendor da Tristeza…]
6. O Enterro do Morto (A Visão da Tragédia, Capítulo II - A Desgraça)
7. Velório Sombrio (A Visão da Tragédia, Capítulo I - A Verdade)

Mid/slow-paced, eerie, cavernous black doom metal from Portugal. No guitars, just drums, bass and tortured vocals. Bad vibes, death, decay, morbid blood rituals , Disney On Ice and loads of other equally disturbing things all neatly wrapped in flagellant's skin. Sounds like a cross breed between Furze and Exitium.
