You didn't read wrong. Take a guess how proud I am about our nominal christians (over a half of Finlands population by the way). Those idiots don't believe but still choose to pay the taxes. When I ask them why they don't just "get a divorce" of church they answer: What do you think I am? A satanist?!? Even a majority of my friends are like that. It's just sad you know? Why won't they think for themselves.

Thats one of the reasons why i dont agree with religions, all those bullshit rules and stuff, i mean if there is a god or a higher power it would have never made up those things!

I dont have a problem with people believing in higher powers and gods stuff like that but fuck those rules that come with it.

And yeah, I agree with frequency-lsd. The way I see it, religion started out as an explanation for inexplicable things. What else can thunder be but a guy riding a car pulled by goats in the sky?
Then lateron as people found out more about how the world and the universe work, the 'important' people used it to suppress and to maintain their power and wealth.
Right now, I think it should only be a set of rules which can provide some direction in life. But sadly, many people take it much, much too seriously. And others don't care at all.

I'm still trying to grasp why a person would have to pay taxes in order to practice religion. Maybe it's too early in the morning for me.

You see why I'm against organised religion? It's not like we're stuck in the middle-ages or something, it's just that the people are stupid, and that church and state go hand-in-hand here. Even though I'm an atheist a tiny amount of money I use, to buy food for example, goes to church.

Oh and biert you bet he is. It's actually more like 85% of Finns who pay that 300€ a year. Which of half couldn't care less. But still they pay. Those people are simply stupid. There's no other explanation.

Religion tax seems very, very strange indeed. If I believed in something I'd just say f%$# off, I'm not paying!

As for yoga, we're going to try out the beginners class with these guys:

but not really the religion just the ideals.

but if you like to believe something good on you! cause i've met more assholes who don't have religion than do.
