Gojira are teh sex alright. From Mars To Sirius is one of my favourite albums ever. The Link and Terra Incognita are pretty damn great as well, but few albums I've ever heard touch on 'From Mars...'. Link and Terra both have a much different vibe to FMTS. Musically and vocally they've progressed a hell of a lot since the earlier stuff. They're Triviums second support act (which is disgraceful...) when they play dublin in a few weeks, so that'll probably give them good exposure in this country. They really do deserve to a big fan base, cos they're one of the best metal bands in the world today, in my opinion.

Am I the only one (again) who thinks Gojira sounds cold, distant, lifeless, hollow, empty, lacking energy, boring?

funny thing is
first time i listened to gojira, i thought "eh, pretty cool, but i'll probably get tired of it soon."

then i listened to it again. And again. And it was kind of a "meh" and "whoa!" feeling, pretty strange

they have great atmosphere on From Mars to Sirius, it's pretty relaxing to me, i used to take my afternoon naps with it as a soundtrack :D

anyway, yeah, the guys indeed have something to them!

*fanboy alert*

I discovered them by accident when I bought "thelinkalive", their live DVD.
And I've been totally blown away.
Since then, they became my very favorite band. They're impressive live, very sweet guys and down to earth.

Gojira kick so much ass. I got to see them back in December, they're awesome live. FMTS is a great album, and I recently got Terra Incognita which also kicks ass. Now I just gotta get The Link and the DVD

Well, as much as I dislike Trivium, this is a great slot for Gojira, and they are indeed sure to win many new fans and also blow Trivium off the stage each night of that tour.

Gojira was here last night. I didn't go because I very much dislike the other 3 bands that were on the bill.

The song The Heaviest Matter of the Universe has a very SYL-esque vibe to it especially the intro.

I can maybe understand all of these... Except the "lacking energy". Have you heard much?

Probably my favourite metal band after SYL and DTB. There's something crushingly heavy about FMTS, but at the same time it's got this melodic, gentler side to it. A very, very good band and I'd love to see them live. Having to endure Trivium in order to see them though...

No, I couldn't do it either!
