Now, to restate one fact. I AM a huge fan of Nine Inch Nails. I love Trents work
But I just got a hold of a song that leaked. and quite frankly, it fucking sucks. It's so plain and generic it's not even funny.
And it is real, since it has Trent talking/singing in it. Maybe its a leaked B-side. who knows.
JayJay you cant be serious. i cant stop listening to it! its awesome! The music is versatile and the lyrical content is great. im glad trent had gone i na different direction to the whole guitar thing. i was hoping the album wouldnt be a DTS 2 or a Fragile 2.
its one track anyway...

After some searching, I found the song... I really dig it. It's memorable, and not really generic like some have said-- I don't think so, at least. I dig the weird squeaky guitar loop thing in the loud parts.

I don't know much about NIN but does Trent like to purposefully leak things as teasers? In the Year Zero article on Wikipedia it says:
"Leaks – intentional?
Near Valentine's Day 2007, the track "My Violent Heart" was found on a USB drive in a bathroom at a NIN show in Lisbon, Portugal. It quickly circulated the internet and gained notoriety on Digg.[13]
A clip of what appears to be the chorus to "Survivalism" can be heard by calling the telephone number 1-310-295-1040, which was found by joining discolored numerals on the back of a tour t-shirt.[citation needed]
On the official Year Zero website, there are coloured marks beside "My Violent Heart," implying that its leak is acknowledged and was intentional. It is speculated that the "fans" who bring cryptic clues to the forums may actually be behind the marketing campaign."

Websites set up as online marketing for the album.
Weird websites, I can tell you!
EDIT: They were at the wikipedia link Leechmaster posted

The websites are 'part of the art. not a gimmick to buy an album' as Trent stuck it.
And yes, the new single is up on their MySpace. Someone has also ripped the song from a Radio promo.
Edit: I'm beginning to dig My Violent Heart more. I guess I found the whole drumbeat at the beginning and through the song a little too cheap.
The spectrograph secret at the very end of the song is pretty nifty

Yeah, I got really psyched for the album after all the website advertisements. Pretty sweet, I think.

This has a HUGE discussion about the Year Zero concept and how the websites connect and stuff. It's AWESOME.
