Free Music

I'm Dutch, so I like free stuff. And I like music. Ergo: I love free music!

Seems to be a trend in artist-land, to allow fans (and inevitably, haters) to download their music for free. Whether it's demos, leftover tracks, sneak peeks or entire albums.

Now I thought it'd be nice to have a place to put all that free crap together, and here it is!!

Now let me remind you all, this has to stay strictly legal. No pirated copyrighted material (we all know where to find that) and please keep the replies in this thread focused on the topic: sharing this free legal music with your mates on the forum :)

Indeed, a fine idea! I shall add this, which some might know from the mighty HevyDevy All Stars CD - Shopping Kart.

http://www.shoppingkartband.com

The Download section has their current tracks, and you can find an older EP in the Bonus section.

Now, you can't say we Cretins don't give anything back to the boards. :D

There's a fucking valuable contribution.

Seriously though, tons of topics recently have a tendency to waver off the main point and get lost in a barrage of nonsensical drivel. It'd be cool for this to be left for just posting the links up and a bit of discussion about what's come before, if possible. We all know we'd love our post count to be bigger cos it means we have giant sexual appendages but... y'know... bit of cop on don't hurt nobody. We've plenty of topics to post the loony shit.

Anyway.

This is Glenn Brown's album "Sodium Light City" (all tracks downloadable) : http://www.last.fm/music/Glenn+Brown/Sodium+Light+City
And also here for the same album if needs be : http://monocromatica.com/netlabel/releases/tube060.htm

Glenn used to post on here before... Under the username Bender, if memory serves. Don't think he's around much anymore but I might as well give him a bit of promotion cos I really think that is one of the best ambient albums I've ever heard. I really dig it...

He's on MySpace too: http://www.myspace.com/glennbrown

Definitely worth checking out!

Excellent topic! I will be checking some of these out. :)

All my own music is free, though you can buy a hard copy if you'd like to help me out (it's very much appreciated). Swimfail is my main industrial rock/metal/dark ambient project, check it out at http://www.swimfail.com. All albums and EPs for free download in the 'music' section.

I also play/produce for the technical rap-rock band Phoenix Voice: http://www.phoenixvoice.ca Our full-length debut is available for free download, and once again, purchase if you are so inclined.

I also have a little chiptune project under the name of Bit_Rat: http://www.josiahtobin.com/bit_rat

And of course all my little original songs, covers, and video game covers can be found at http://www.josiahtobin.com.

Did I do it right? :)

I would also like to whore my own material out, due to the fact that i released my album as a free download :)

My project 'Flood of Rain' made a release in 2007 but it was only last year that i released it as a complete free download on bit torrent

Peter Chilvers, a jazz pianist and bassist (among other things). Three free albums. He's worked with Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree.

Ooh, seems like great stuff that.

I'd like to recommend Videovalvontaa.

Last.fm says chiptune music, just plain electronic for me. Anyhow, sounds great to my ears.
