Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I don't always let vocals ruin a song, but often they do if they're really to my distaste. I mean, there's no getting around singing that you don't like.
I'm warming up to Meshuggah. When I first heard them some time ago, I was really put off by the singing; but I like the music a lot, so I keep listening, and it gets easier.

That is to say, my threshold of heaviness has been going up and up lately.
So don't get me wrong, I like music with balls, just .... the right kind of balls? I don't know where that metaphor was going, but you see what I mean?

EDIT:: I guess I'm first poster on page 666 of this thread. Doesn't bother me none, just throwing it out there.

I like Sybreed because they fixed two shit things in guitarey-industrial music: crap instrumental parts and uniformly shite vocals. Instrumental things is pretty self-explanatory if you listen to them, and Ben can sing AND doesn't sound like some generic modern metal screamer - he fits in that decadent industrial shtick a lot.

I might have bias for "whiney" vocalists though. I liked that second dude from Scarve too, and he apparently sounds like that Linkin Park guy (on PCP) for others.

If you guys like dredg, try it. I had to give it a few listens before I started enjoying it, but I can't stop listening to it.
I can see how it would turn off a lot of people, tho. His lyrics get really goofy on the album, but it's solid as hell to me.
