Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Yes I heard that!

It's sure different, but Amoeba was miles away from Deviant Current Signal too, so no surprise there. Definitely looking forward to the new album!

Where did the Elbow I was listening to go?

It's somewhere between your shoulder and your wrist.

That's true. Amoeba was great. You have that song "The Daily Round" off of Revolution Calling? It's absolutely killer.

I cant wait to hear the rest of Lazarus, Hacride is one band that keeps impressing me.

Oh man, I knew that comment would set you off  No one can deny though that Petrucci is very talented, and is very skilled technically and other wise. Man, we just don't agree on guitar players do we? First Steve Vai, and now JP

I just dont like shredders. Both Vai and Petrucci are astoundingly talented guitarists...but thats all they are is guitarists, they are not musicians to me. I compose all of my own music, drums, guitar, bass, you name it I wrote it(on my own music, again)

Vai and Petrucci blow me away in terms of out right skill. They can both play more cleanly, faster, and more complex things than I can. Do I respect them? Yes. Do I enjoy their works? Not so much.

They lack feel! A lot of people will come back and say "well Vai has a lot of feel! His stuff isnt ALL shred!"

Ok, so what, he can play slow. Still doesn't make him as good a musician as say: Dev, Mikael Akerfeldt, Steven Wilson, all of the guys from Meshuggah.

On the note of shredders though, I do enjoy Mattias IA Eklundh. Reason being? He is different. His stuff is far beyond what both Vai and Petrucci play, his style is different his sound is different. The guy is incredible and if you like guitar playing I HIGHLY suggest giving Eklundh a try.

Oh for sure Alucard. You make some good points, which I would agree with, but I make some exceptions. I hate Yngwie Malmsteen for example, he's just a wanker IMO  I definitely agree that Devin, Akerfeldt, Wilson, even Meshuggah have very tasteful, skilled chops. Technicality isn't all that matters. I do love me some Satch though :D

OSI - Office of Strategic Influence

I absolutely love Kevin Moore's voice, much much better than LaBrie's in fact. Haha, poor Dream Theater.. I hope their next album slows down more..

Aww, poor Yngwie. At least he has a sense of humour. releasing an album with the title 'Unleash the fury' was pretty self-deprecatory.

Rising Force was a pretty good album for its time as well. certainly broke some new ground.

I'd take Paul Gilbert over Vai or Satch

Hell yeah! One of the best CD's that no one knows about. Kevin Moore's gravely ass voice really does give LaBrie a run for his money.

I guess I don't mean to hate on the guy - he just seems ... waaaay over the top. But that doesn't mean that he's not extremely talented and quite impressive. If he can poke fun at himself, that's a plus.
