Man Death Magnetic really was so much better than I expected. And I actually quite liked alot off of Load and Reload. But St. Anger was just awful. But for pure, Old School, riffs out of everywhere awesomeness DM was up there with the early stuff in my opinion.
Really hope they let Trujillo fly on the next one though. If you've ever heard him playing with Infectious Grooves you know what I mean. If not check out "The Plague that makes your booty move" and "Sarsippius' Ark". The 2nd one has a cover of Immigrant Song with Trujillo playing Slap style. Great stuff.
The speed that the guy can play slap with is awesome and I'd love to hear that kind of funky trash style in a few 'Tallica tracks.

Bad lyrics, ok instrumentalism. the guitars were rather muddy. and to be honest i kinda liked Lars' drum sound 
. itd be better suited on a punk album or a hip hop album but i do kinda like the sound of those trashy drums. would sound good on a tom waits album for instance

True, it was Lars' first decent drum track in ever. Deinately a step in the right direction. But guys like Hoglan still make him look like a child with a new toy.
