my favorite isis is actually In the Absence of Truth - their last full length. It's their most definitive album. Oceanic is another favorite.

Neurosis is good shit. Given to The Rising is my favorite of theirs. I have a few of their albums, and GTTR is by far my favorite.

Isis wise i'd say Celestial may be my favorite of theirs. Also their older stuff (Mosquito Control and such) is really good, much heavier and not as drony.

Really good! his solo work is mainly instrumental, more jazzy with cedric singing on some albums.
to start with his solo work i recommend the following releases:

-Omar Rodriguez, self titled album. really good stuff experimental/fusion jazz type of stuff
-Se Dice Bisonte, No Bùfalo, more bases around actual songs, and cedric has some vocal parts.
-The Apocalypse Inside of an Orange, i consider this being selftitled part 2
-Calibration (Is Pushing Luck and Key Too Far), more electronic based, vocals by omar, john frusciante and cedric

Yeah what I've heard from Panopticon is pretty cool so far. I haven't heard Neurosis  would you recommend them? :)

Go and listen to A Sun That Never Sets right now!

And I'd say that Isis' latest album is also my favourite.
