Well....from what I can tell so far, the albums as a whole seems a tad less heavy and like the "triggered" drums are toned down. The guitars sound better and more shred-y with occasional squeels and whatnot.
There are some really heavy songs on there, don't get me wrong.

There are a couple songs that are power ballads and a cover of U2's "I Will Follow" which is entirely devoid of any chunky guitar chugs.

So far though, I like it....really melodic and more of Burton's clean vocals....most of the songs are heavy too, so it's not a soft record.
