Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Recently I've been having a bit of a chaotic time and found myself turning to Ghost for calm and for the first time since its release the album has clicked. I often listen to it as I sleep on the train to work but if I can't sleep it's still a nice way to ease into the day. This is my favourite song.

I think Ghost is one of my favorite albums by Dev in all honesty. My favorite song is Infinite Ocean.

As for me, I'm currently listening to Consciousness by Windy and Carl. This album got me through a really tough time in my life. It was the only music I could listen to at the time.

Ghost and Ki are the ones that i can always turn to.

Something completely different to Ghost, this randomly popped into my head yesterday while mowing the lawn.

I'm digging this. I was half way expecting some subpar death vocals to roll in and ruin it for me.

Haha, I know right? Nope, Pelican are all instrumental. I love this album especially. They have one song on a newer album with guest vocals, but aside from that it's all instrumental.

Kind of sums up how I feel about a lot of metal these days. I'm over bad cookie monster impersonators grunting over the top of excellent music. It's so limiting and unimaginative.

I agree with you on that. I found another band around the same time as Pelican called Isis, and I do not like their vocalist, but the instrumentation is wonderful.

Speaking of Cookie Monster vocals, new Deicide:

I like what's on offer so far. Plus it will be interesting to finally hear a release recorded with Kevin Quirion.

The band i posted a post or two ago "Palms" is literally Isis after they broke up. The singer for deaftones sung for the guitarist, bassist, and drumer. It's magical stuff.

Ooh, I'll have to give that a listen then. Love everything about Isis except the vocals most of the time.

Here's another from Pelican I love.
