I was hooked on Addicted after the video of the vocal tracking for Supercrush. I just got a sense of "This is going to be amazing." Sure enough, it delivered. Bend it Like Bender is the only thing that's a little too pop for me, but that's always been part of Devy's repertoire.

Might need to put on some Addicted right now.

So the Facebook feed seems to indicate Ihsahn will be appearing on Deconstruction.

What do folks here think of this? I personally like some of his stuff, lukewarm on others, but given how well Devin has used his guests in the past (obviously Anneke, but I happen to think Vai's solo on Triumph is one of his best and that's saying something) I think this can only be a positive.

I'm not sure what to think, at this point, seeing as it hasn't been outright confirmed that Ihsahn's going to be on the album. But... if he is, I'm sure Dev'll do a good job with however he decides to fit him in. I'm a huge fan of both Emperor, Peccatum and his solo work; my only concern being his screech, which IMO has really degraded over his past couple releases. After was still an amazing album (my best of 2010, actually), I'm just not sure if I want to hear harsh stuff from him on Decon. Either way, this just puts my most-anticipated-album-ever (along with Ghost) completely over the top!

And I too was subconciously forced to put Addicted! on, while I was happily enjoying some good old Ocean Machine just a second earlier..

New layers are discovered in my brains, my eyes can see new and fascinating lights and shadows, colors seem a bit more vivid than before..

For anyone who cares, it was confirmed today that Ihsahn is on Deconstruction, contributing vocals. What kind of vocals, though (harsh, clean or both) remains to be seen...
