What I can hear is "While we all have lots of band who influence, still, we all rip off Meshuggah".
Doesn't read as a typical dev lyric, but that's what it sounds like.

I hear, "While we all have lots of bands who influence now, we all rip off Meshuggah." Sounds pretty clear to me, but could certainly be wrong.

As for any possible recurrences in the music, considering the four DTP albums are supposed to be connected, I would expect and prefer references to other songs throughout them.

Maybe "While we all have lots of bands who influence, still we all rip off Meshuggah."?

He sings most of the lyrics on his solo Special Defects album. He sounds like a wackier version of Tomas Haake's back vocals.

I know, and it really plays with my emotions, because I have a very soft spot for Periphery at the moment... Fuck.

Daaaaamn does that video ever get me excited!

So, wait - does this mean that Praise the Lowered will not have any guests? Also, why did the video list 'Plant of the Apes I'? Is it a multi-part song, even though it appears in a single spot on the album?

In the bed tracks vid of Decon, a list is shown with Planet of the Apes I,II,III (on separate lines). On that note, Cheeseburger had been listed as a I & II.

List on Vid (around 8:30 - http://www.youtube.com/user/poopynugget ... NVg7PixJuo):

Praise the Lowered
Stand
Planet I
of the II
Apes III
Poltergeist
Save the World
Cheese I
Burger II
Pandemic
Illuminati
Mad at my Dad
Morbid
Brownman
Turning Black
TraeStorz
The Universe
Juular
Ho Krll

Infinite Waltz (or Infinate Waltz, dunno if that was just a type on the back cover) in Mighty Masturbator...sweet. Always wanted to hear that done by an actual orchestra and choir! Soooo excited about this!

Huh, that's interesting, thanks. Where is masturbator? Is it made up of many of those songs or something?

I'm still confused as to why there were tracks called Deconstruction and Cheeseburger in the first tracklisting posted in this thread. Then, songs that didn't end up in the final tracklist:

Ho Krll
The Universe
Save the World
Illuminati
Mad at my Dad
Brownman (for Z2?)
Turning Black
TraeStorz

Assuming that those songs aren't just smaller parts of Masturbator, that does look like an entire second album of b-sides!

After watching that vid again for the Nth time and being thoroughly stoked I then listened to Drench which then felt so right.
The vibe will be amazing, to go from Decon and it's hugeness to what Ghost is in balance to that. Man, this'll be such an amazing pair completing an amazing quadrilogy.
Chills all over.

Just wanted to jump in and say, after watching the new vid for probably the millionth time today... and despite having barely heard ANYTHING of Deconstruction, taking into account the entire album... it sounds absolutely immense - just like Devin said it would. To elaborate: I was listening to Strapping Young Lad this morning (Shitstorm/Shine, actually) and it just kind of occurred to me, after hearing the new clips, how much larger Decon's scale is - sonically and atmospherically - than Strapping's. Like, Strapping suddenly sounds (to me) like a snapshot of just one person's extremely befuddled, addled mind... while Decon sounds infinitely more massive in comparison, in every way. Like two suns are colliding head on, or something to that effect.

And, for the record... that extreme increase in overall 'immensity' is a good thing, IMO! Decon really does sound more powerful, more dense, more comprehensive, and truly NEXT LEVEL (again, to quote the man himself) in both energy and intensity compared to Strapping Young Lad. Don't get me wrong, this doesn't make SYL any less 'good' to me, but... Decon is just miles and miles ahead of it, and that's just my opinion after hearing little previews of each unfinished track!

You're truly making a monstrosity of an album, Dev... in the absolute best way possible, believe me :D

I have to admit I was a little worried Decon might be trying a bit too hard and at risk of failing to live up to expectation. Having heard the snippets I am now massively excited! That sound is awesome - reminds me of the 'bigness' of Truth and Life Is All Dynamics. Tunes sound great too - very Zappa-esque. Talking of Zappa, I suspect his 'conceptual continuity' idea has been an influence throughout Dev's career - look at the the lyrical references to the colour grey as well as the use of musical similarities (never direct copies). I certainly don't think it's a result of Dev ripping himself off or being lazy!

Roll on the UK gigs and then June...

The songs are most likely split into 2 and 3 separate parts because the orchestra isn't playing through out the entire song and those are their sections.
