"Deconstruction with Cheese (Hold the Pickle)"

You get Decon, a cheeseburger reference, and a nod to masturbation, all in one title.

I'm new here, but I'll throw in my 2 cents anyways. I would go with renaming Cheeseburger 'Deconstruction', and that may be due to my minor OCD. I think the song is sounding great, with the choir singing about a cheeseburger, but the title kinda sticks out on the tracklist with cool song titles like 'Stand', 'Praise the Lowered', 'Poltergeist', etc. I've heard you say that most of the album isn't really funny at all, but with a song title like 'Cheeseburger', it's sounds like your going for something comedic with it (which it may be, I haven't heard the whole thing yet obviously, though it sounds epic and powerful musically from what I heard.)

It also sounds like 'Cheeseburger' might be the "climax" of the album, just like 'Ki' was the "climax" for the album Ki. What better song to be named 'Deconstruction'? I may be wrong seeing how little I have to go by, but there it is.

Yeah, that too. And yes, the music is what matters, and in the end I wouldn't care either way. But me being who I am, someone who cares about every little aspect about everything, no matter how insignificant, would much like to see Deconstruction on the tracklist.

I don't care if the songs are called for example "homoerotic fantasies" as long as it kicks ass, it kicks ass. A title is just a formality.

With the amount of blood and sweat Devin has put into this album so far wouldn't for a second make me think it is less than a masterpiece.

Agree with all of this. I wonder what Mighty Masturbator will sound like. Much guitar fapping, methinks.

And, you can completely tell a good story without making it cheesy - just look at Opeth's My Arms, Your Hearse. Every song's lyrics end with the title of the next track; the whole album is one giant story (beautifully written, IMO) and yet you can listen to all the songs individually and they still make sense.

HERE is the written truth - one of the best concept albums of all time. Without a doubt.

I'm incredibly excited on how Deconstruction will turn out. Can't wait having a day off and listening to the DTP albums back to back while reading first time fully concentrated through the lyrics. every good concept album deserves that, just as Disillusion's Back to Times of Splendor. Simply magnificient.

Like I said earlier, I'm on the other end of the spectrum from LepperMessiah; titling it Deconstruction just... wouldn't make sense to me, I guess. After hearing that Youtube clip where the lyrics to the song are literally describing the ingredients of a cheeseburger, it would be misleading (IMO) to call the song Deconstruction. I like your suggestion a lot, actually ('Deconstruction with Cheese'), and 'Deconstruction of a Cheeseburger' is cool too... ultimately, whatever Devin likes the best is what he'll go with, and I'll be happy with whatever that may be. I'm just rambling on about this because I'm opinionated, and it keeps being brought up, haha.

Just wanted to throw this in (since I just heard this interview posted with Dev from December, yesterday) - Ziltoid actually 'wrote' a song, originally, for Decon. I'm pretty sure it was called Brownman (as in, the 'BOOOOOOBIE!' clip from the first Deconstrupdate) and the song was about... well, poop, according to Devin. But, the farther and farther he got into recording Deconstruction, he eventually just decided that is wasn't heavy enough (if I heard him right) and that it didn't make sense to put it on the album. He said Ziltoid's time will come later...

The cheeseburger metaphor is not the point of the song in the scheme of it, and that realization happens halfway through the song.

So there, officially it is now 'Deconstruction' ...sorry to those that prefer Cheeseburger

And there is substantially more fapping in 'Deconstruction' (yaw!) than Masturbator tbh, the point of masturbator (17 minutes of it...) is exploring excess (emotionally or otherwise) to arrive at the conclusion that we often do it to make ourselves feel important or powerful etc... so it had to be long, wanky, odd and random.
