Honest opinion - some moments were "FUCK YEEEEEAA". Others were boring. It feels 'claustrophobic' (what's the proper adjective there? I dunno) and way too dense for too much time. Maybe that's the point. I can't picture myself going straight back in to listen to it again, probably not for a while, but it's a good 'un, certainly.

Yeah it's a neat touch that actually works really well. This is supposed to be Devs "ultimate" metal album isnt it, so it's pretty cool that it touches on his past.

See, I think one should do the exact opposite if that's how they feel. Dev said this would be a grower, and even if he didn't, I'd know that since it's 70 minutes of dense, tremendous musical onslaught. I plan on going for a walk tonight with this, and then I'll hear it again later tonight. This is going to become as much a part of me as possible.

While I love Devin's music, I am inclined to agree with you.

There were some really solid songs/moments on the album, but a lot of the time it felt to me like it was losing focus and just opted to go crazy and hectic, and as a result of so much happening at once, nothing really happened

I will still be buying this and Ghost on the 16th though :D

Man, Deconstruction is such a beautiful track, that bit at 7:15 keeps giving me goosebumps and making me well up. Dev loves his "I'm sorry bits" :)

I have to say, the presence of the orchestras are very hard to detect except for in "Juular", "The Mighty Masturbator", and "Planet of the Apes". It could just be the 192kbps (can't wait for a 320). The density of this is astounding.

Though, this album is so fucking dense that I could probably listen to it 100 times and still love it. I can tell this one's only going to get better with age.

So you're shunning your newborn? Shame.
