Damn now I feel like I should've trekked over to NC after the Knoxville show just to say that I went. Apparently no one else here did?

Maybe everyone in Charlotte just hates Devy.

I had already bought my ticket and I planned on driving down from VA, but I got snowed in and couldn't go. I've been wanting to see Devin for years and this would have been my first time, so I guess you could say that I'm pretty unhappy about it...I'm kinda glad there aren't a ton of people posting talking about how glorious it was!

I misread that, and read "Maybe Charlotte just hates Devy".

I was shocked I was the only one who commented from the Charleston, SC show. Weird!

There's been a huge snowstorm over in that area, so that may have something to do with it.

Well I guess someone has to step up and represent the Queen City, so I'll make my first post. Dev and co. were awesome, by far the highlight of the show for me. STS was great as an opener. Cynic almost put me to freakin'g sleep though and I left after a few songs from BTBAM. I was towards the back most of the night, but just had to squeeze down to the side of the stage to get a good close look at Devin. He is hilarious. By Your Command slaaaayyyyeed They were pretty much out of any good Devy merch, but I picked up a nice STS shirt for $15 plus a free bottle opener, so I was also happy about that. Can't wait to see Dev again...hopefully in Charlotte, headlining!

Oh, and yeah, Charlotte LOVES Devin!!!!

I was there, drove down from southern VA with my girlfriend, my best friend, and his girl. Stood outside in the cold for three hours, but it was worth it to be right at the front. I'm the guy that went and got his laptop.

Scale the Summit were good, but they're too technical, not enough emotion in their music. Devy hit the stage and put on one of the most energetic shows ever. Then when Cynic came on, well... I'm not religious, but that was the closest I have ever come to spiritual transcendence.

I like BtBaM, but there's no way that they could match what went on before them, so I bailed after a few songs. Amazing show all around though!

I wouldn't go as far as that, but seriously. They might not be as hard all of the time as Devy or BtBaM, but their music is so full, so complex, it's crazy. Even when it's soft, and they're playing something like Nunc Stans, there's still almost too much going on to comprehend at one time.

I am of the opinion that Traced in Air is the best progressive metal album of all time.

I absolutely ADORE Cynic.. but.. I mean, they have absolutely zero stage presence. It's amazing to HEAR live, but you might as well sit at home and listen to the CD real loud. You don't exactly get much out of their live show. Oh well, was still amazing to have both Devy & Cynic sharing the same stage

I disagree. No, the stage show itself might not be the most exciting thing in the world, but that's not the point. The experience of the music, the emotions that it fills you with, that's the point. I almost started crying during Nunc Stans, and no other band at no other show has been able to pull something like that out of me. It was beauty, raw, unfiltered beauty and that, to me, is the ultimate stage presence.
