Did you see the Devin Townsend Project set at the Sonisphere Festival in Warszawa?

I did!

Whopping 40 minute set played at 3:30 pm isn't the best thing evar, but it's not that I could choose. Took couple of hours off work and went to see it. Dev looked & sounded as good as I expected, band was killer and sound was good too (Beavs bass slides sounded great). There were Supercrush, Kingdom, Heavy Song Off Deconstruction That Sounds Like Elephants Marching (I don't know Decon yet, really), Truth, By Your Command and OM (in usual, short version unfortunately). Everything smooth and on time - with the exception of small problems with lost microphone (found in front of Dave, he must be looking like a vocalist). Oh, and Dev's got himself a new, black telecastery guitar. It looks rather neat.

I keep my fingers crossed for their return to the proper club show, since I hated the festival thing, with expensive tickets for decent places in front of the stage, odd slots and all that.

By the way, never thought about Truth as a moshing song - turns out it is one. What the hell.

lol Best description ever! If I had to guess, I'd say that was 'Juular.'

My guess is "Stand" (because of RVP). I hope there will be some live-vids soon!

RVP did say that he was going to learn some stuff from Decon that he didn't play drums on....

I remember Stand riff from youtube vids and it wasn't it for sure. And drums were rather extreme, so it could be Dirk's work.

I believe that is the 'Epicloud' guitar, the new prototype Peavey sent him that he immediately began to write the new album with.

Juular kicked my ass, it wasn't the same without Ihsahn but I loved it anyway. Dev made a grate show on stage, but it was sooooo short ... I hope he will return someday and play for us much longer. He could play 2 concerts, one Decon and early, heavy albums style and second - Ghost style ... yup, that would be awesome !!

Thanks for the support guys, was great to finally make it to your country... the promoter invited us back next year for some headline stuff!

Well, yes please.

I thought you were exagerrating with this "confusing the shit out of audience" bit on twitter - but by reading the show reviews (on lastfm) I see large part of the audience was really weirded out :>. See ya on headline show!
