little slow, you should've just moved the other thread from the Devin Townsend section. That's what you get for making this read only! :chain:

Suggestion, possibly post up all dates as to encourage meet ups, or just allow us to post topics in this section

Sadly the show was at Peabody's (shithole) as opposed to HOB, but good show nonetheless. Dev and the band were amazing, easily the best live performance I've seen him give. Vocals were spot on, even on the difficult stuff (Kingdom!). Plus he had the crowd going nuts, mosh pit and all. The last time I saw him do DTB material in Cleveland the crowd was luke warm at best, so that was great to see.

As with other reviews, I was disappointed in the short setlist, but that comes with the territory unfortunately as an opening band. I love that he played Kingdom and OM. Would have been killer to hear the whole OM which is one of my favorites, but I'll take what I can get!

As for the other bands, Scale the Summit was pretty good. I get bored of the all-instrumental thrashing pretty quickly, but those kids could definitely play. Add a vocalist and some more interesting song structure, and they could be pretty solid. Cynic was ok; I don't know their music and it sounded pretty interesting, but as soon as they broke into the yoga (yes, they had the crowd doing yoga between songs), my buddy turned to me and we both said "let's go" simultaneously and we left. So needless to say we didn't see BTBAM. I really only came to see The Dev anyways.

Thanks Dev, great show! (I miss the skullet though...)

Yes, the main awful thing was that the show was at peabody's. Fucking awful garbage place, but still, it was Dev! Even the mongoloids in the back of the room were at least nodding their heads. Hearing Kingdom and OM, Truth and By your command completely blew my mind.

As far as the other bands go, I actually really enjoyed cynic until they played "Wheels within wheels". The new age cuts into the live set weren't very welcome either, my friend was totally weirded out by it. But still, the first like, 4 tracks or so of their set was amazing.
