Hey! You're awake!

This seems to be one of the less popular songs. What do you think? I'm listening to it right now and I love every second of it. I don't think any song has ever a. wrapped an album up better, and b. transitioned into what album is coming next. Really powerful tune.

Express your love of Awake! here.

Dev is singning like Cher in some lines, which is another pop aspect of this album.

Awake! is one of the best songs in Addicted, somehow reminds me of New Black in part where Dev sings "Deconstruct" (around 04:20). Powerful stuff.

Awake is an awesome song with the exception of the chorus with anneke. The drums there are that beat that every 7 year old kid learns first. boo boo bap bo da do da do bap.

Ryan's drumming on all devin albums is fuckin awesome though

I think the same thing. The ending of Awake and TNB both have that repeating fade out riff to an ambient part.

But yea, the "without a haunted song we'd all be alone. So get up, get up, get up, now Deconstruct" is probably one of my favorite lines on the album.

That beat exists for a reason! And it is because it WORKS at certain places. And basically it's a snare & bassdrum variation of the basic 4/4 rock beat. A quite popular variation, yes, but as I said, for a reason.

The end has some of the best metal vocals I've heard from Dev, hands down.

One of my favorites from the CD. The tone is great. Starts kinda free and happy, goes in and out of an angry feeling and freedom. I feel like its suppose to be a part that slowly transitions into deconstruction.

Definitely my favorite part is "NOW DECONSTRUCT!"

Excellent song! As everyone has said NOW DECONSTRUCT is the best, it gives me chills, and the part "I DIED A LITTLE... I WANNA BE SET FREE... <3. But the segue into the first chorus is way too sudden and kinda seems stuck together... I think I've said this before but this is like the one flaw I found in the album, imo.(the only other part is it's like this after the first "Ih...Ah" chorus in Ih-Ah!)

It was a toss up between Awake and The Way Home for me.

I'm sure its not even close to one of the least popular tracks on the record.

It's one of my favourites. The vocals after the "I DIED A LITTLE"-part sounds like Black Metal, seriously. That's the only major thing I don't like about the album although it doesn't ruin the song at all. With the exception of the sudden first chorus this song is absolutely perfect. Beautiful and diverse vocals, addicting melodies and rythms from all the instruments (vocals included) and a perfect atmosphere to end the album.
