New videos sound pretty cool--particularly "Numbered," since we get a better taste of it. Also, a July release is pretty exciting.

Thanks, Dev!

Man, and I thought I'd never listen to an album more than Ki... those two samples are so catchy and rockin'. Great stuff, genuinely anticipating this release - probably more so than Ki to be honest!

For people that pre-ordered Ki and got a signed copy such as myself perhaps you could write 'Townsend' on the inside of this one to complete the signature, haha

I love this record though.

Obviously it's not going to do the final product justice, but it's definitely appreciated. When the final product is so multilayered, getting an insight into the recording process and what things sound like originally is quite interesting to people like me.

He's turning it in to the label in July, it'll be out later. He said so further back in the thread, yo!

Yeh like a spoilt brat I just keep mentioning earlier release dates so hopefully we get it earlier, well that was my intention  ...anyhoo

the tunes sound pretty damn sweet, loving the layering, mmm

Wow, the bit at the end of that video with the layered Anneke vocals is amazing

Wow! Numbered is great -
it's possible to be heavy and groove-able at the same time, I see. From the limited amount that's in the clips, it's really interesting that it's .. well, heavy, but not cluttered. Sounds like there's room to breathe. I suppose it's too early to tell what it's really going to sound like though, these are speculations.

Nice vids, Townsend! :)

p.s Re: Numbered, errbody looks so into it - a good sign!

I agree, it really reminds me of her improvisation on Ayreon's "The Sixth Extinction" in the last part of that song. Gorgeous.

Interesting choice of footage. Borrowed clips from Coast perhaps? :P

Heavier than I imagined it would be, but still very cool! Although I generally dislike grunts, I like the first part of the video. I hope that there is clean singing too, otherwise it may become what makes Strapping too heavy for me... That would be a bit of a disappointment.

Devin, can you please post an estimated clean vocals/grunts rate, if you know what I mean?

Everything sounds phenomenal! It was pretty hard not to blast the shit out of these at work....perfect visual accompaniment in the new vid by the way! I remember watching that centipede video a couple years ago...unsettling, but undeniably fascinating.

If you mean the screamy vocals when you say 'grunts' then yeah, there's lots.

Lots of clean too, I'd say probably 50/ 50

Again, each record is for a certain type of listener, some Ki folks won't dig Addicted, some Addicted folks won't dig Decon, and the 4th is very different from anything I've done...nothing heavy at all.

grunt grunt, oink, snort....
