I have a dumb question that's probably already been answered, but does anyone know if the album will be up on iTunes on the release date?

Anneke sounds beautiful on Resolve!

I know. The whole thing sounds great. Not a bad song in the bunch.

Someone needs to rip this into a high quality mp3. Remember kids that we want a high quality version and not a compressed version of a compressed sample.

Let me preface this statement by saying I was a Devin Townsend fan the year some members of this community were born. I've driven a total somewhere around 5,000 miles (detonating a car in the process) to see him perform more than a dozen times across six or seven states.
That said, headliner status is decided more by concerns of commerce than those of art. Sure Devin has been a consistently mind-boggling performer since debuting world-wide with Steve Vai some 16 years ago. He has shared the stage with, and subsequently blown away, some of the biggest names in the business. The man's albums have provided soundtracks for great moments in hundreds of peoples' lives and brought at least as many back from the brink of personal ruin or suicide. However, dude hasn't "proven himself" a viable draw in ways promoters would recognize (see also: coming through 5 times a year and still drawing a crowd, charting with record sales, etc.).
I am almost entirely out of the scene save for poking my head up on a couple forums and helping out pissant local acts with merch or crew duties. Yet, I've heard the name Between the Buried and Me a lot lately. Not only that but it comes from both sides of the Music-as-fashion and Music-as-Passion divide. The kids who have the $150.00 jeans, a closet of almost unworn band shirts, and other trinkets bought with the money they save by living with their parents AND the guys in 1997 tour shirts largely because they had to choose between a new one or some guitar strings both visibly support the band.
Devy though... I've read and heard many perfectly passionate commentaries about him. However, I've heard just as many excuses for not making a gig. "Oh well he only had a 20 minute set anyhow," "Well, I can't drive at night," "Well the headliner (who I could feasibly walk out on and make it home in time to get to work next day) sucks." It'd be nice to hit my usual 3+ gigs and see some faces I know from the other night offstage for a change. Otherwise, nothing will change.

Amazon samples are really awesome!

I wish Devin and BTBAM could headline somehow lol and STS/Cynic as opening acts since STS is okay and Cynic is pretty boring (albeit a lot of people say they're awesome live so maybe my opinion will change)

That's exactly what I was saying, Socks. The world doesn't care about the quality of music or the legacy of it, it cares about what it sees.

Look at another example. Ensiferum is headlining their current tour over Hypocrisy. Hypocrisy has been around since 1992, are a better, more innovative, and widely regarded band, but Ensiferum is better known nowadays, so they'll sell more tickets.

And touring is a big fucking deal. If you're not touring/really active, you won't get many radio/tv/magazine interviews. If you don't get those, you're not getting publicity. If you're not getting publicity, people forget about you. Not to say anything bad about him, but Devin's been taking a break, and meanwhile BTBAM has been touring relentlessly with Dream Theater/Ozzfest/Children Of Bodom/Dragonforce/Opeth/Killswitch/In Flames, some of the biggest names in metal right now.

So yeah.

It's an Amazon screw up. If you lift the samples from the site and check the mp3 tags then they all go back into the known order we expected.

Oh yeah, and they make me very happy. Very.

The Amazon samples are cool but they kind of suck. Tiny crappy quality samples just don't cut it.

Where are the reviews for Addicted? They sent out a 1000 copies and we only have 1 review so far. What are people doing with their copies? Are they hording them? Laaaaaaame.

End rant. :alien:

It doesn't really seem like that many people have actual promos... Weird.
