Even when the leak happens, I'm buying 3 copies.
I would like to believe most people on this forum appreciate your music and for such reason most of them will be buying a copy.

I'll probably do what I did with Ki - grab the version from HDR as soon as it appears on a pre-order on the eBay store (you are doing this again I assume, Dev?) and then grab the other version through the normal channels. Can't see any reason why at least two copies won't find their way to north east England again for Addicted.

Me. guitar and vox

Anneke. vox
Mark Cimino. 3rd guitar

Hopefully 2 more background singers, one guy, one girl

We will be doing visuals and playing to tape as well. (visuals when we can, festivals etc)

I would LOVE to see a DVD of one of the larger festival performances. By way way Devin, have you heard this guy? http://www.myspace.com/iambulb. I find it very easy to imagine you singing on his stuff, especially the more melodic pieces. I can imagine him being open to a collaboration.

Kinda surprised Dave isn't coming along for keys. You two seem to have a great musical "connection."

And I LOVE Bulb, man! Just got into Misha Mansoor a couple of years ago and think he is absolutely amazing. I suggested a collaboration between Misha and Devin in a different thread. That would be epic!

I suppose that means I'l have the North-west covered then :)

I really can't wait for this - Its the first Devin record I've followed since its inception to completion and the anticipation is killing me.

Yeah, with SYL and DTB tours in the past, the sound was never totally 'right' for me live...as a result of samplers and keyboards, it was always a budget version of the album...with dtb, we played to a click on the Opeth tour, and it felt solid as a rock, so why not go the next step and get ALL the bells and whistles that I spend months making in the studio come out live as well?

I haven't been to a show in year, mainly because I hate the way they sound, super loud, honking, poorly executed versions of the songs I love.

Granted, some shows sound terrible no matter what you do, there's a venue in Vancouver Croation Cultural Center, that sounds horrible no matter what...but when I play, I want it to sound awesome, so no keys and samplers, all that on tape...and Dave was originally a guitar player, but he's such a smokin' musician that when I needed keys, he nailed that better than anyone as well.

Bulb is killer, totally awesome....I love his style, and Periphery are great.

I love that sound from SYL's Download Festival 2006. It was really kick ass sound of your music.

Don't worry about the sound on stage. I know you want always to sound professional, but the live shows always give people unique experience, even when sound is not perfect.

Can't wait to see you in Europe. Glad you're back !

Good to know. I remember seeing you on the Alien tour...you had all the crazy Skeksis vocals lined up perfect. It was a SHITTON better than the feather album tour. There is something exciting about live keyboards though. I dunno. Does this mean you still have all those old tracks from previous albums backed up somewhere, and then load them into a sampler? I saw a video of Jem from Frost* loading their samples into a Roland Fantom 6. it was mind blowing.

Video of this process would be awesome.

Yeah the voices that are recorded are imposible to recreate without a big band, with samples is not the same, but if Townsend uses two or three more voices on stage ...damn!

Totally...

And yeah, we worked really hard to get the samples sounding good at download, and for the Alien tour etc...

And I know live is a unique experience, I'm changing lots of the songs for live...

And here's the thing: If you thought it sounded good before, just you wait!

If it goes well, I'd have a small choir and a keyboardist on stage as well, starting small because I have to!

And if that goes well you can have a huge choir and a big fuck off orchestra.

Opps got a bit excited there, but man that would be great.
