So many questions... :coucou:

They are the exact thoughts & questions going through my head for the last few days - I ended up buying both versions for Ki as they were different enough to warrant doing so and planning ahead of time to do the same for Addicted would be nice, if it's possible. Budgets and all that, you know - that bit where real life meets record collection :P

Any idea on the plan for the actual shiny discs yet, Devin?

Im really digging the lyrics, glad to see the "All the worlds afraid" bit in AWAKE! that part was catchy as hell!

I cant describe how much im looking forward to this now, and yeah i will probably download it as soon as its available BUT i will still buy at least one copy probably from HDR if we're gonna get autographed ones, if not a plain old copy from amazon will probably be my second choice!

I always feel like i should wait i know its SO much better when you get the whole package in the mail, but the music, it makes me WANT it so bad....i get URGES to HEAR NEW DEV MUZZAAAKKKK!!! ::foams at mouth::

Plus i havn't been strong enough to wait for the proper version of a Dev album since Physicist and thats only cause i didnt have the internet back then haha!

BRING ON ADDDIIICCCTTTEEEDDDDD!!!!! :guitar:

It's funny really how most of us on here love the heavy side of things, at least to some extent, but a good melancholic album that smoulders rather than burns sometime turns out to be one of those that stays with you longer or cuts the deepest. I love a good rage about like the next Team Strapping person to pass by (my neighbours will love Deconstruction whether they know it or not  ) but there is certainly that time of year when even your ears need to kick back a little, stop and take stock. I take a lot of long country walks - rivers, forests, hills etc - and it sounds like "the 4th one" will be my companion for a good few miles to come. There are those moments you turn a corner and hit a perfect view just as the right passage of music comes on and....ah, can't be beaten.

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely stoked for both Addicted and Deconstruction to a ridiculous degree, but knowing that there's such variety on the menu, from Ki all through, is mouthwatering.

Next is Addicted though - time to party a little :guitar:

Fuck, I'm so goddamn excited for Addicted. And Deconstruction. And the 4th album.

And EVERY OTHER ALBUM DEVIN WILL EVER RELEASE.

Cheers to my favorite standalone artist.

Dev was on Andrew Hoags 'Full Metal Racket' radio show last night, on JJJ http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/racket/

I missed the first half, I think he played an Addicted track? Tour idea sounded interesting. Variable set lists, depending on mood.

I just bought the Agua De Annique album.....Devin you're both a lucky man for working with Anna and a genuis for asking her to work with you on Addicted....on that note....

How many songs on Addicted does she sing on?I'm really looking forward to how her voice compliments yours on the finished article!

Thanks for the music Devin.

Yo all!

Dev gave me a finished copy of 'Addicted' yesterday.

HOLY FUCK!

It's amazing and more than I expected. I was talking to Beavis (Bassist for 'Addicted') last night, who also got a copy of it and we agree that it's a catchy, heavy, very dancy/groovy and versatile version of Ocean Machine mixed with Infinity and hints of Dev's other solo stuff all in one. This is probably one of the most original things I've heard Dev do (along with 'Ki') and the production is fucking insane!!! I'm blown away. Just like 'Ki' , 'Addicted' is a step in a new direction and un-stoppable. It's another journey that will have your head moving to the groove at all times and melodies you'll sing along to and remember. And YES... it's punishing in a very positive, dancy, groovy way. What a record.

Thanks to Dev for having me play drums on this kick ass record, it's an honor to be part of an album with talented musicians and amazing songwriting and production.... I just do what I do and hope it helps make a great record. Again.... WOW! I'm blown away and very excited for you all to hear this album.

A very excited and honored,

RVP

PS.... Thanks again to all you amazing fans. I've never seen such loyal support to a musician like Dev. This guy busts his ass for his fans and it's nice to see the awesome support you all give back. Thanks. - R.

Wow, new (subtle?) twists and flaves on fan favorites? In that case, obviously Townsend fans will go nutz for it, but it also sounds like it will definitely ensnare Townsend noobs as well :D
