Man...just like the "Better Idea" vid....infectious. I have had this in my head all day. Thank you Dev....absolutely beautiful.

And....that acoustic vid of you sittin' by the tree? Yeah....you can just do that for the rest of your career and I will not complain. Gorgeous.

I just sat there with my arms folded, my feet up on the desk, just amazed at how talented you are.

I thought the clip of addicted was amazing, but this may even be better. The girl you have in the background is a winner. And I liked the last one especially in trainfire. She sounded like an angel. Can this one really be twice as good??

The stuff your doing is absolutely what I want to hear as a fan.

Awesome clip! Always appreciate the glimpses into your creative process (and the damn hard work that it is!).

My only question is this; who are these people who didn't like what they heard from the Addicted sessions? Everything we have heard so far is outstanding! And while I'm sure you're sharing the material you consider to be the strongest (hey, it'd be nice to make a buck or two!), I can't imagine a huge drop-off in quality for the unheard portions.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. Addicted sounds amazing, and it baffles me that others so vocally disliked it that you nearly lost confidence in the project. I'm glad you're sticking with it. The results are sounding amazing!

Dev, the videos are all sounding good. For what it's worth, I'm going to be happy no matter what you put out as long as you keep doing it. The only two albums I didn't enjoy were Devlab and Hummer. Not that I didn't appreciate them, but when I look at my iTunes playcounts, I've played Synchestra, Terria, and Ziltoid about 100 times, or more, each. The Hummer and Devlab only got about 10 plays each. But, honestly, I'd keep buying your albums even if they sounded like The Hummer and Devlab because I've grown to respect and appreciate what you're doing. My $15 is like a contribution to the sincerity account. I know that you love what you do, that it's honest and that it's artistic in the sense that it's from you and it's your take.

But, still, I know that in the end, you're gonna make really fucking cool music. It might sound like Coast, Disruptr, and Heavens End, or it might sound like Triumph, Color Your World, or Storm. Either way, it's going to be fun to hear it and see where you go. I'm really looking forward to Addicted and Deconstructed. I'm sober, too, and I know how, well, interesting, it is to do things that you used to be loaded to do. But, you get through it. I used to think that I wouldn't write as well sober, but I got better at it. And, as a 38 year old, I can appreciate how things mature and our outlook changes. But, still, if you have metal in your heart then it comes out in whatever you do. Metal isn't hate, it's passion, and sometimes it's aggression. You'll always do metal music, even when it's clean, quiet, and peaceful. It'll be aggressively, passionately clean and peaceful.

I'm looking forward to it. Keep at it, brother. Can't wait to buy the albums.

Devin, what kind of 1176 compressor settings do you like to use when tracking the clean vocals? Do you like to compress hard or lightly when tracking?

And how do you like to mix those clean vocals, what plugins do you like to use?
