as much as i want this and that, a few progressive songs and tracks like the beginning of Synchestra or "Two Weeks"; if we get a full album of killer songs like Life and Storm I will be equally pleased.

I should also add that I know that Devy has said things about this album that it will be catchy with big choruses and melodies. I am generating these trains of thought in the possibility that Devin hasn't told us everything about the style of the album.

This album is for us, the fans. I feel we will all find everything what we wanted with something little extra, as usually.

Something from the past, something fresh, a little progressive, heavy, crazy... and don't forget about Anneke. Devin was really looking forward to this cooperation and we should all know why. She can do absolutely everything with her voice... it will add more quality and deepness, as she did in The Gathering. Good old times...

Expectations are high and that's good. If there is someone who can keep a good level through all these years, it's surely Devin.

I have been listening to live recordings of Anneke singing Hyperdrive on YouTube. Getting geared up for the album version. :D

This is one of the main reasons, why this album will be a instant classic. She's simply amazing and putting her in one studio with Dev is one of the coolest idea, EVER ! :D

Devin just released a beautiful and dark "Ki" album, but Addicted will be a huge music bomb in our faces. I feel, I'll be more than satisfied.

For the fans of Dev, 2009 will be surely a year to remember. Comebacks are great, this one is epic.

Comebacks of the great artists, of course.

Dev had a break after Ziltoid... and returning with four albums, now. FOUR ! :D

While I am tremendously excited for Addicted, to say it 'will be an instant classic' before you hear it is dangerously fanboyish.

I don't care, really... but if it's really going to be an instant classic, you buy me a beer. :)

I agree. I am also very excited but it does sound very fanboyish. Almost all of Devin's albums are in my top 30 (if i were to ever compile a list) but i don't believe any of them to be instant classics. I have to wait for time to pass and see how they stand up against the other bands of this current time. After years it will be possible.

Were progressive rock albums of the 70's considered instant classics upon release? I am not sure. Just wondering. Not comparing in any way. Can any older members say anything about that?
